Dear Contributor,

As many of you might remember, in the last development report, we spoke about adding a couple of features, tweaking a few features, and A/B testing main page designs, landing pages, registration flows, and quite a few other things. Well, the features have been launched, other features tweaked, and the A/B testing completed. And as a result, DreamTeam now has a better picture of why certain things work better than others. Since launching, DreamTeam has hit the ground running, only now, our path to success is much shorter. Join us as we discuss what has taken place in June and where we are headed in July!

Game Features

As more and more players use the DreamTeam platform, we receive more and more feedback. DreamTeam will always listen to gamers, even those who don’t use our platform. Listening to the industry is the only way to provide gamers with what they want. And the new additions to Apex Legends and CS:GO do exactly that.

Apex Legends

June was a very long month for DreamTeam Apex, not because of the amount of work we completed, but because of the anticipation of Season 2, which launched on July 2nd. While we waited, the Game Features team streamlined the Apex website design, added some additional trackers, and released a really cool feature that can only be found on DreamTeam, the Legends Stat page.

Legend Stats

The Legends Stat page provides users with an understanding of, not their personal playing stats, but the stats of the Legends in Apex Legends. Users can see the following overall Legend stats or for each individual Legend:

  • Win Rate
  • Damage Per Match
  • Kills Per Match
  • Headshots Per Kill

Having more stats on specific Legends can help you choose which Legend you should be using. The stat trends will also show an Apex player when the developer has made a Legend weaker or stronger.

New Design

The DreamTeam.gg/apex page is now more user-friendly! The top menu and LFG page has been simplified. In order to simplify the LFG page, DreamTeam removed many of the distracting imagery that was posted with each message. By doing this, the users’ messages become the central focus of the page. As a result, more and more people are receiving responses to their posts, leading to more and more people posting messages. Success!

More Trackers

As Apex develops as a game, DreamTeam will continue to add more and more of the in-game trackers. This will allow DreamTeam Apex to track the stats that players want to see. The following trackers have been added:

  • Kills as the Kill Leader
  • Wins with a Full Squad
  • Revives
  • Top 3 finishes
  • Season 1 Wins

Challenges

DreamTeam Apex is still developing Apex Challenges. We can’t tell you much about the new feature right now, but rest assured, when the time comes, we will be writing about the feature that will be sure to increase registrations and retention.

CS:GO

1v1 Practice Games

CS:GO players can now choose to create or join 1v1 Practice Games. By opening up Practice Games to the 1v1 format, players now have the possibility to work on individual skills. This also allows players without a team to use the Practice Games feature, which, in fact, is what we will be covering next.

Teamless Practice Games

It’s now possible to create or apply to a Practice Game without being on a Team simply by:

  • Creating or joining a Practice Game on DreamTeam.gg
  • Starting the server and sharing the free server link with your friends
  • Asking players to click the link and join the game

By opening up the Practice Games feature to every DreamTeam CS:GO user, we can expect to see a rise in the number of Practice Games created and played as well as a rise in retention.

Updated Training Center

The Training Center has been updated to now include the ability to select different server locations, as requested from the CS:GO community. By listening to the CS:GO community, DreamTeam will continue to become the platform for team and skill-building.

Fortnite

From one community of builders to another — Fortnite is coming to DreamTeam! We can’t reveal much right now. But the Game Features and Module teams have been working hard on DreamTeam Fortnite v1. Stay tuned.

In July, the Game Features team will:

  • Support Apex Legends Season 2
  • Release Apex Challenges
  • Start development of Apex Premium
  • Start development of improvements for the CS:GO Recruitment process
  • Start development of improvements for the LoL Recruitment process

Game Analytics

Over the last month, the Game Analytics team has been working hard on the Player Analytics Dashboard (PAD). For those who have forgotten, The Player Analytics Dashboard is a module that will pull, store, and organize Player statistics from the DreamTeam Analytics Tool. The PAD will allow teams to keep track of their progression over time and get a better understanding of where they were, where they currently are, and what they need to continue to work on in order to advance their skills.

The Shooting and Grenades section of the PAD has been soft launched in Poland and the US. The two sections allow CS:GO players to see the following statistics:

Shooting:

  • Accuracy
  • Reaction Time
  • HP Exchange
  • Cooldown
  • Headshots

And, it’s much more than just numbers, users can use cool graphs to see:

  • Best Weapons
  • Hitboxes
  • Shooting Styles

Grenades:

  • Flashing
  • Damage
  • Efficiency

Users can also use graphs to see the following stats:

  • Opponents affected
  • HE effect distribution
  • Flash effect distribution
  • Nade waste rate

In June, the Game Analytics team also created an in-experience messaging popup mechanism.

In July, the Game Analytics team will:

  • Launch in-experience messaging popups
  • Soft launch PAD Grenades for Poland and US

Modules

In June, the Modules team continued to work on the self-coaching feature, now called the DreamTeam Playground. The new “self-coaching” feature will provide educational content, test users’ skills, and automatically assess the completion of each task. Each week the DreamTeam Playground will release an additional skill pack that will help DreamTeam users improve their CS:GO skills. By adding features that are available to players, whether they’re on a team or not, DreamTeam will continue to see the retention rate rise.

We will release more information on this new feature as the release date gets closer. As of now, the Modules team has prepared the scope for automated self-coaching and is working on finishing up the development of the auto-completion of the Playground tasks.

In July, the Modules team will:

  • Launch DreamTeam Playground (self-coaching) with task auto-completion
  • Prepare scope for the social profiles
  • Start the development of social profiles

Architecture and Infrastructure

In June, the Architecture and Infrastructure team:

  • Designed tech for challenges and other planned features.
  • Worked on SDLC in detail
  • Focused on solution experiments (A/B testing)
  • Produced Apex leaderboards scaling strategies
  • Researched and completed PoC or adding the 4th platform game
  • Continued focusing on moving support of services further to teams (from devops and leads) including 24x7, monitoring, alerting, etc

In July, the Architecture and Infrastructure team will:

  • Develop tech design and strategy for adding new games
  • Develop tech design for other ongoing features

Blockchain and Payments

In June, our Blockchain and Payments team released the DreamTeam Quest (Questline) feature experiment. The Questline is a simplified version for the DreamTeam Journey. Adding the DreamTeam Journey to our platform increased user engagement by more than 4 times. The Questline is being tested to see if simplifying the DreamTeam Journey will further increase user engagement.

Our team also worked on adding different minor fixes and improvements to the Payment flow and is developing the DreamTeam Wallet and Questline rewards.

By adding different minor fixes and improvements to the Payment flow, DreamTeam will be able to deal with errors in a more efficient way.

The DreamTeam Wallet & Questline rewards is an experiment that compares the engagement of users with the platform with and without DreamTeam Wallet and rewards for questline completion. The DreamTeam Wallet test will contain three parts:

  • Token rewards for completing the DreamTeam Quest
  • The DreamTeam Wallet to DreamTeam platform, allowing users to collect and spend tokens, currently only on the DreamTeam platform
  • A “Search Booster” — feature users can spend tokens on. Search Boosters place a user’s Player Profile at the top of the player search results for a period of time.

DreamTeam will use the experiment results to shape the next DreamTeam Token-related features.

In July our team is going to:

  • Prepare new test of premium packages
  • Launch test for Questline with virtual tokens
  • Prepare a vision for basic version of the DreamTeam Shop, the more robust version of DreamTeam Wallet, connected to DreamTeam platform features

Design lab

With the results of the series of A/B tests we held last month and on-going user research, the Design Lab has been using the information to design a long list of upcoming features and feature updates. They are as follows:

  • UX/UI — Wallet with Tokens and Boost, Apex LFG improvements, APEX New navigation+layout
