Dear Contributor,

Things are progressing nicely at DreamTeam. Unfortunately, we still cannot discuss what we are working on behind the scenes. However, news may likely start trickling out late October. Please keep in mind, these Development reports are sent at the end of each month, so, it is very likely that the news will reach you before reading about it in our reports. And we’re ok with that, as it means people are talking about DreamTeam. Let’s focus on what we can discuss at the current moment: the development of Apex Prime, the launch of Apex challenges, our Apex Overwolf app, multiple CS:GO experiments, and much more in this edition of the DreamTeam Development report.

Game Features

September is going to be an exciting month for DreamTeam and the Game Features team. The development of Fortnite, the fourth game to be added to the DreamTeam Platform, is nearing completion, a great new Apex feature has been launched, and our Apex Legends Profiles are continuing to evolve. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

Apex Legends

In August, the Game Features team was heavily focused on Apex Legends. And as Apex Legends continues to grow and become more and more popular, DreamTeam continues to add new features and update existing ones. Find out more about Apex Challenges, Apex Prime, and the new addition to Apex Profiles below.

Apex Challenges

Let’s quickly discuss what the DreamTeam Challenge feature is and why the feature is better than anything else on the market. So what are Challenges? Each day, DreamTeam hosts two challenges. Each challenge has a goal to reach: get the most kills, cause the highest average amount of damage, etc. Players can join one challenge per day for free and they will have 24 hours to try to place in the top 3 places on the Challenge’s Leaderboard. The top 3 places receive a cool DT Challenge badge for their profile and a cash reward sent directly to their PayPal account.

So why is this feature better than anything else on the market? Right now, players can enter tournaments on other websites, Those tournaments often have a requirement for the number of entrants needed and specific start times and dates. Most of the time, the number of entrants needed isn’t reached and the tournament is canceled, leaving the players who do want to participate with no tournament. One reason for players never signing up for a tournament is because of an inconvenient start day or time. These problems don’t exist with DreamTeam Challenges as our Challenges don’t have minimum entrant requirements. And players can join at any moment as the challenge runs for 24 hours, allowing participants to compete when they have free time available. At the current moment, DreamTeam Challenges are only available to players in the US, worldwide Challenges will be released in the middle of September.

Apex Prime

The development of Apex Prime has been completed and will be launched in September. Apex Prime is a subscription-based membership and will give users access to additional DreamTeam Apex features. Apex Prime members will receive Prime support, the ability to join multiple Challenges in a single day, access to Prime Challenges, and much more. We will cover Apex Prime in detail in the next report.

Apex Profiles

Our Apex Profiles have been updated to include match by match statistics. This is very important as the game itself doesn’t have an option to go back and look at your past games played. This new profile feature also provides Challenge participants with the ability to see a game-by-game breakdown of any of the other participants in the daily Challenges. Want to see exactly how the player above you was able to get 500 kills? Well, it’s now possible!

In September, the Game Features team will:

  • Launch DreamTeam Apex Prime
  • Start the development of DreamTeam Apex Challenges v2.0

Platform Features

In August, the Platform Features team was busy testing and tweaking CS:GO and LoL platform features. The first test performed by the team was making the DreamTeam Chat feature a larger part of the recruitment process. To do that, the chat button was disabled on all Team, Player, and Vacancy cards. In order for users to communicate, they had to use one of the recruitment tools to chat. The Platform team also experimented with daily and monthly recruitment limitations and the Premium booster logic. In addition to the tests, the Platform team also started the development of a new LFG solution, making it easier and faster for Players to find other Players who just want to play right now.

In September, the Platform Features team will:

  • Finish the development of the new LFG solution

Game Analytics

We are excited about finishing and launching Fortnite on DreamTeam in September. Because of the success Epic Games has had with Fortnite, DreamTeam will be able to reach tens of millions of young and dedicated gamers to provide them with stats, challenges, LFG, and many other DreamTeam Fortnite features.

In August, the Game Analytics Team:

  • Finalized the Fortnite v1.0 Scope
  • Updated the Fortnite main page design
  • Created UX&UI for Fortnite profile settings
  • Launched a new Main page experiment to improve CTR
  • Completed the Technical PoC for Overwolf

In September, the Game Analytics team will:

  • Launch Fortnite v1.1
  • Develop PoC of the Overwolf Apex app “Pick Assistant” feature
  • Develop Pick Assistance functionality

Modules

As stated above, Fortnite is going to be a very important addition to the DreamTeam family. The Fortnite Challenges module has been completed. The Fortnite Challenge feature will almost mirror the Apex Legends Challenge feature. Apex Challenges were described above in the Game Features section.

In addition to completing the Fortnite Challenge development, the Modules team also:

  • Designed the Fortnite Challenge badges
  • Created the UX&UI for Fortnite Challenges
  • Created the UX&UI for Fortnite Prime; we will discuss Fortnite Prime in our next report
  • Started Fortnite Prime Development

In September, the Platform Features team will:

  • Launch Fortnite v1.2 and v1.3 (Challenges + Prime)
  • Develop new Sign up/Sign in flow via Discord, Origin, and PSN

Architecture and Infrastructure

In August, the Architecture and Infrastructure team:

  • Worked on the Overwolf application: scoping, tech solution, and plan

In September, the Architecture and Infrastructure team will:

  • Finalize the roadmap for the rest of the year

Blockchain and Payments

In August, we developed a unique feature for the DREAM Token — delegated transactions, meaning that token holders don’t need to pay transfer fees in Ether anymore. This drastically simplifies the usage of the DREAM Token and leads to smoother adoption, as users don’t need to manage two currencies (DREAM and Ether) nor do they need to buy Ether from exchanges.

You can try it yourself on send-token.dreamteam.gg! Follow the widget messages to connect it to your Ethereum account, transfer your tokens, and pay the fee in DREAM instead of Ether. The fee is calculated dynamically taking the following into account:

  • Current network fee (from gas price)
  • Current DREAM token price on exchange
  • A coefficient which covers additional expenses (price volatility, mining time)

Please note that the transfer fee might be higher during peak periods (daytime).

Delegated transaction support is a feature that makes the DREAM Token stand out, as there’s a special required functionality that has to be pre-programmed into the token smart contracts. Read more about this feature in our blog.

Data Analytics

In August, the Data Analytics team:

  • Developed new architecture PoC
  • Completed DWH optimization
  • Implemented Apex WEB analytics improvements and a/b tests

In September, the Data Analytics team will:

  • Develop Apex Prime metrics
  • Develop Fortnite Prime metrics
