Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s new Battle Pass. The Battle Pass approach is a first for the game, ditching the series’ long-running and lucrative — but mostly disliked — loot boxes in the process.

The Season Two Battle Pass will again be free and premium, with any balance-impacting gear in the free one. Gamers who don’t want to pay more won’t miss out on the season’s two new weapons, both of which will be available for free. The Grau 5.56 mobile assault rifle will be accessible at tier 15, while the Striker 45 SMG is a reward for getting rank 31.

The free Battle Pass will also allow users to get to 300 Call of Duty points, as well as weapon charms, calling cards, and more.

The premium option offers significantly more perks. This version will feature 100 levels and even more items. Right from tier 0, players will unlock Simon “Ghost” Riley, a character from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Ghost will also include additional items and a new operator mission.
