The last update to the DreamTeam Practice Games feature saw the addition of CS:GO Practice Game Invites. This allowed Teams to invite other Teams to a Practice Game without having to go through the application process. As we continue to get feedback, work with professional CS:GO Players, and add updated features, our Practice Games slogan has never rung truer, practice made perfect. So let’s jump right into the newest Practice Games update: the addition of knife rounds, overtime possibilities, and chat commands.
Practice Games Updates: How to check them out
Make sure you’ve registered on DreamTeam.gg and have created either a Player or Team Profile. Users with a Player Profile must first join a Team before being able to set up a Practice Game and experience the new knife rounds, chat commands, and, in the case of a really close game, overtime. If you need help joining a Team, check out our Finding Teams 2.0 article.
Practice Games Updates: What they are
Some Players and Teams have a preference for starting a CS:GO game on a particular side. Whether it be strategic or merely superstitious, there’s only one fair way to allow Teams to choose sides, fight for it. That is where the new knife rounds come into play. The Team that wins the knife round gets to choose its starting side.
How the knife rounds work:
In order to start the knife round, all of the Players need to type “!ready” in the chat during the warmup. Once everyone has typed “!ready”, the knife round will begin. The Team captain can also force start the game by typing “!forceready”. It’s important to understand that the warmup will go on indefinitely until all Players have typed “!ready”.
From time to time, two Teams are so evenly matched that a winner can’t be chosen within the standard 30 rounds. If the score of a game is tied after 30 rounds, overtime will be played.
How overtime works:
From time to time, two Teams are so evenly matched that a winner can’t be chosen within the standard 30 rounds (16 rounds — for 2v2). If the score of a game is tied after 30 rounds, overtime will be played.
In CS:GO, managing the server is an important part of the game. DreamTeam now makes it even easier to do just that.
