Winners

Astralis — Best Performance

The Great Danes nearly stumbled against Renegades but managed to pull out an exciting 2–1 victory. The majority of the team was feeling under the weather with several players looking like ghosts on camera. They pummeled Cloud9 16–0 and compLexity tried to play nuke against them. They had a +45 round differential. It’s not even fair at this point.

Liquid — Best Supporting Actors

The NA squad looked devastating, coasting past Na’Vi on their way to a perfect 3–0 record. They also took on NiP, who also won Legends status, and Avangar, one of the most surprising teams of the stage. They’ll be looking to be the lead actor in the rest of the Major story though.

Na’Vi — Best Map

The CIS power went 3–1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Liquid. They had an instant classic versus Vitality, which they managed to win in triple overtime. The best news for Na’Vi is that flamie seems to have found his form again. It’s a bit unfortunate that electronic, at the same time, went missing.

FaZe — Best of the Worst

Nearly out at 1–2, the international team of stars looked awful. Olofmeister, even though he reached the last 8 in a Major again, looked like a shell of his former self. He was poor throughout the stage. But, in the end, they had just enough firepower to get them into the playoffs. They were pushed to the limit by almost every team they faced.

ENCE — Best New Story

A super story is developing out of Finland. ENCE managed to qualify for the Major as the country’s first to ever do it. Several firsts have followed, with their biggest being qualification for the Champions Stage. Sergej wasn’t a god, but his teammates stepped up when they were needed most. Aleksib versus G2 and Allu versus Avangar come to mind.

NiP — Best Documentary

The legends made it out of the Legends Stage. They started slowly but then found their form, hammering a dismal HellRaisers along the way. They went win, loss, win, loss, win to make it this far. So, if that pattern continues the Swedes will be going home after their first match in the playoffs.

Renegades — Best Unknown Actors

Another Cinderella story. Renegades nearly went 3–0, only dropping their match to Astralis. They were the only team to win a map against the Danish side and gave it a solid go on Nuke before eventually losing out. The Australian contingent was just a lot of fun to watch. They weren’t scared of any team, and hopefully that continues.

MIBR — Best New Lineup

After getting smashed out of the server in their opening match against Cloud9 (3–16), the Brazilians steadily improved. They looked super against NiP and made it to the playoffs quite comfortably at 3–1. It looked like they were a bit cold at the beginning but really heated up along the way, which is a scary proposition for their opponents going forward.

Losers

NRG — Worst Performance

After going 3–0 in the Challengers Stage, the NA side imploded, getting beaten like a red-headed step child. The culmination of their humiliation came with a 0–2 loss to NA rivals compLexity, who were basically playing with a PUG team.
