Many visitors around the world are attracted to some of the truly exotic destinations that are best visited during the fall season in Canada. The following list consists of the best Canadian places worth visiting in autumn.

Algonquin Provincial Park

Known as the largest provincial park in Ontario, the Algonquin Park is the ideal place to go for camping, canoeing or to watch the moose during the mating season. The brilliant fall foliage also makes it a great place for tourists to visit or to go on a photography safari.

Mont Tremblant

If you have always wanted to watch the fall colours and scenic views of mountains, the Laurentian Mountains found in Mont Tremblant is the best place for you. Other interesting activities also include horseback riding and hiking at all levels in the Laurentian Mountains. The Symphony of Colours Festival is also an opportunity to enjoy the best colours of the fall viewing season and music events.

Gros Morne National Park

Walking on the Tablelands Trail is an awesome adventure that offers scenic views of what geologists believe was forced up from the earth’s mantle. The surroundings of this trail consist of glacially carved valleys, steep and rocky slopes, unique plants and stunning views of the sea. One can also hike along the Western Brook Pond Trail or through nearby community trails.

Okanagan Falls Provincial Park

The Okanagan Falls Provincial Park is an interesting location to visit during fall to watch autumn leaves along the shore of the Okanagan River. Visiting fruit orchards, local wineries, and watching birds and bats are also other common activities in that area.

Churchill

The fall season is particularly special in the Churchill region, where one can see the majestic polar bears and graceful beluga whales up close and in person. After an adventurous day out touring the Hudson Bay coastline, you can return to your cozy wood fire-heated lodge and enjoy a sumptuous meal at the Lazy Bear Cafe. You can also catch the northern lights in the sky in late November.

Prince Edward Island

This area is renowned for having fall foliage that lasts for a long time in North America. Apart from visiting the Anne of Green Gables site, hiking, biking or walking along the sandy shore, you can also relish fresh, local oysters. Or if you’d prefer to indulge in a culinary adventure, then head on to Charlottetown’s Taste The Town Walking Tour where you can taste various local and unique food of the island.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

Touring wineries are one of the main activities that make fall memorable at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Drink some wine, drive through the Niagara Parkway and make sure you don’t miss the Shaw Festival!
