Resources for victims, volunteers, & donors in and around Coweta County

One of the tornado’s most destructive hits was a heavily populated area in Newnan, Georgia.

Thousands of people across the Deep South were recently reminded that life as we know it is a fragile thing. On Friday, March 26th, in the wee hours of the morning, west-central Georgia was hit by a devastating EF4 tornado with 170mph winds. This came on the heels of a deadly tornado outbreak from the same storm system that carved a 100+ mile path across Alabama the day before.

The damage in Newnan and surrounding areas is extensive.

Many towns and cities have suffered severe losses between the two states. Newnan, Georgia was one of the hardest hit areas, and days after the storm, hundreds of people are still in need of critical help.

#NewnanStrong has become the hashtag of choice — and it’s appropriate, as the strength shown throughout this town is nothing short of extraordinary.

The following information is intended to connect those affected, as well as volunteers and donors, with helpful resources:

Newnan Tornado Recovery Support : The Administrators of this Facebook Group are working with Coweta County Emergency Management Agency and are gathering and sorting information to connect victims & volunteers with the appropriate resources. Connect with them for the latest updates.
