Mother Earth has a Rhythm

Mother Earth has a rhythm
that must not be disturbed
a distant drumming heartbeat
that often goes unheard.

We’re chewing and choking
on our piece of Heaven
and leaving scars on the land.

We’re snatching and grabbing
more than our share
and we all got the blood on our hands.

It’s an over-consumption
an awful malfunction
and we’re digging our own grave.

We cannot create
a more perfect place
than what is ours to save.
