Predictions for 2016

It’s the beginning of the best year for autonomous vehicles. It’s the best year to build new tools. It’s the best year to take action and create the best pieces of technology any of us have ever seen. Instead of getting ahead of ourselves, let’s move on to what we should expect.
- We predict the most ambitious makers will 3D print an autonomous vehicle in their garage. These will not be run-of-the mill junkyard go-karts either. Makers will be able to develop autonomous vehicles for specific purposes. Passengers vehicles barely scratch the surface. The most ambitious and creative makers will reveal themselves with new uses for autonomous vehicles.
How will we get there? What we need are more active developers, engineers, technical members to experiment on more vehicles on as many roadways as possible. The data we share will help everyone sustain their respective efforts while building upon what others are doing. Bruce Lee said it best, “absorb what is useful. Discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own.”
