This is patently untrue. The more stridently gun owners wrap their arms and stomp their feet and blubber that their rights are being taken away, the more often I see someone on the other side just give up and say “you’re right… you can’t be trusted with weapons of any kind, and I am coming for them…” It may not be a tenable or reasonable position, but it is one the NRA is pushing us towards, and they likely are not going to like the eventual consequences.
