The future of mobility is a very questionable topic. Most of the questions are focused on “when”. “When will the driverless cars be mainstream?”, “When will cities figure out how to manage bikes and scooters?”, “When will shared mobility become a usual thing?”. Currently, some of these questions are difficult to answer, but some answers are getting attention.

If you are wondering how modern mobility will look in the following years or how we will travel around the world with shared cars, the answer lies in the top 4 changes of future mobility. Mobility will be shared, electric, hybrid, and autonomous.

Shared Mobility

It’s obviously clear that a single car, whether autonomous or human-driven, is unsustainable as a main mode of transport. That is because the big cities are expected to grow to 20% in the next 50 years, and the infrastructure can’t accommodate growth in traffic. We are already facing with congestion and we don’t need more! That’s why shared mobility is a great solution. It allows people to share cars between themselves, so you don’t need to own a car, you can hire a car from someone who wants to share it with you.

There are many benefits of shared mobility: it saves time and money, helps the environment, solves urban density problems, and has flexibility. It gives people the real picture of the transportation costs and makes people aware of non-personal vehicle options. If someone doesn’t own a personal vehicle, then they need options. This is what makes shared mobility will become very popular in the following years.

Electric Mobility

We live in a time when basically every automaker in the world is focusing on electric future. Everyone wants to drive an electric car. And why? Because electric cars require less maintenance, the fuel is less expensive, and the cars are easier to fuel up without human intervention. Moreover, by choosing an electric car, you help in reducing harmful air pollution from exhaust emissions.

Electric cars will really help the future of urban transportation because even if we have more cars, they will be electric and electric cars are much better for the environment.

Hybrid Mobility

Even though we expect to see autonomous cars in the future, human-driven cars are still there. So, this means that human-driven and autonomous cars will have to coexist. It doesn’t matter who or what is driving the car as long as it makes the future of mobility more efficient. What really matters is to drive more people with fewer cars, which means getting the right car at the right place and at the right time.

Autonomous Mobility

According to some new studies, many car owners would consider giving up car ownership in the future for autonomous mobility solutions, such as self-driving taxis or buses. There is no way to reduce urban congestion without some form of public transportation. So, maybe in the future, we will have self-driving public transport that will improve economic sustainability, as well as the congestion.

Where are we now?

There are many obstacles to overcome for this future to happen. However, we can say for sure that shared mobility has started to grow and is becoming popular in our lives. For example, peer-to-peer car sharing is a part of the shared mobility that enables sharing one person’s own car with another person through online platforms. This type of shared mobility runs on private cars and community needs, so operations are not limited to urban areas.

Shared mobility is still evolving and it will make a much bigger impact on the cities we live in. We are excited to see what is yet to come in the shared mobility world!

At Drive Drive Car, we are fully aware of the potential of shared mobility. That’s why we have developed this platform. Drive Drive Car is an online, peer-to-peer platform where users (individuals and companies) can register for free and list their cars that they want to rent for the period when they don’t use them. On the other hand, any individual or company can register on the platform for free to rent some of the registered cars. Moreover, manufacturers i.e. authorized dealers of new cars can list their cars for testing, and the cars can be used by users at most twice a day.

In both cases, the car owners define the rental price by themselves, in which the rental costs, the earnings of the platform, insurance and taxes are included. Cars can have their own insurance or use insurance from the partner company on the platform and customers pay only for the insurance depending on the use of cars.

The main objective of the platform is to multiply the effect of the utilization of cars already owned by some people or companies, and in doing so, the owners can earn from their use. This approach, in addition to the direct commercial effect, will in large measure effect with reduced traffic congestion and rational utilization of parking lots that are occupied with unused cars for most of the day.

Our mission is to show that it is not necessary to have a car to be an owner of a car. We believe that in the next 10 years, we will live in a world without owned cars. It’s strange but that will be true! We would like to be a part of the car mobility change in that “strange world”.

Don’t miss this opportunity and join us today!
