Earlier this year, we asked our communities of customers and creators to tell us what charities and causes were important to them. We’re pleased to share we’ve added THREE of the top-voted organizations to our List of Supported Charities. Publishers and community creators can use our Freelancer Royalty tools to donate proceeds of their titles to these charities.

The list now includes…

Four 6-sided braille dice each displaying a letter of DOTS. Underneath it reads RPG Project.

DOTS RPG Project

Improving accessibility in tabletop roleplaying games, one adventure at a time

The DOTS RPG Project was officially recognized in June 2019 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 83–3541185). Since their founding they’ve been working on various accessibility related projects in the tabletop community with different companies, publishers, developers, and individuals. They are best known for our braille dice design which we donate as 3D printed resin sets to game stores, community centers, schools, conventions, and others worldwide as part of our DOTS Family program. 3D file downloads are also available to the general public for personal use free of charge so anyone with access to a 3D printer can make their own.

Another branch of the DOTS Family program is working with different game developers, publishers, and individuals to make their content more accessible at no cost. This can be a wide variety of things such as optimizing a PDF for screen readers, writing alt text for images, testing website screen reader functionality, transcribing books into braille, and providing feedback and/or guidance depending on what is required per project. They offer accessibility resources such as how to prepare files for screen readers, using alt text, and more with additional articles on the way. There’s also a Consultant Directory they’re constantly developing where people can seek out accessibility-based consultants for paid work.

OutRight Action International. Human Rights for LGBTIQ People Everywhere. A globe drawn from rainbow lines.

OutRight Action International

Every day, the human rights and dignity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people around the world are abused in ways that shock the conscience. The stories of the struggles and resilience often remain invisible — or willfully ignored — by those with the power to make change. Since 1990, OutRight Action International has worked alongside LGBTIQ activists and organizations, diplomats and policymakers, and other key partners to advance community-focused solutions to create lasting legal and social transformation. Together, we combat the systemic violence, persecution and discrimination that LGBTIQ people face around the world.

SPLC Southern Poverty Law Center. A circle icon with scales of justice in them.

Southern Poverty Law Center

The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.

Civil rights lawyers Morris Dees and Joseph Levin Jr. founded the SPLC in 1971 to ensure that the promise of the civil rights movement became a reality for all. Since then, we’ve won numerous landmark legal victories on behalf of the exploited, the powerless and the forgotten.

Our lawsuits have toppled institutional racism and stamped out remnants of Jim Crow segregation; destroyed some of the nation’s most violent white supremacist groups; and protected the civil rights of children, women, the disabled, immigrants and migrant workers, the LGBTQ community, prisoners, and many others who faced discrimination, abuse or exploitation.

Our Intelligence Project is internationally known for tracking and exposing the activities of hate groups and other domestic extremists.

Learning for Justice provides free resources to caregivers and educators — teachers, administrators, counselors and other practitioners — who work with children from kindergarten through high school. Educators use the materials to supplement the curriculum, to inform their practices, and to create civil and inclusive school communities where children and youth are respected, valued and welcome participants.

We also built and maintain the Civil Rights Memorial and its interpretive center, the Civil Rights Memorial Center, in Montgomery, Alabama, the birthplace of the modern civil rights movement.

We’re based in Montgomery and have offices in Atlanta, Tallahassee, Miami, New Orleans, and Jackson, Miss.
