As a business, you have one overriding goal — to connect with your audience — to either raise money, or make money.

And to do this, you create content. Lots and lots of content — logo, website, email templates, investor decks, social media, one-sheets, on-boarding materials, the list is endless.

But what if your content isn’t cutting it? (This could be anything from your verbal pitch to an ad to an email.) What if you’re not connecting with your audience? What if your customers are ho-hum, and your investors un-wowed? What if people do not completely get what you do?

If you aren’t making an impact with your our audience you most likely have one of 3 problems.

  • PRODUCT: You haven’t built a product or service people want.
  • AUDIENCE: You’re not talking to the right audience.
  • VALUE PROPOSITION: You aren’t expressing your company’s value in a meaningful, concise, consistent way through all this content you use to communicate.

We’re here to discuss Value Proposition — and how companies need to clearly articulate that value proposition if they’re going to connect with their audience. Three things to remember: Meaningful, Concise and Consistent.

Let’s talk a little about each of these things:

MEANINGFUL

Your business has a purpose other than to make money. What’s that purpose? What’s your why? What’s the root of why you exist, why you do what you do? Whatever it is has to mean something to you — to mean something to your audience.

CONCISE

In this highly competitive, short-attention span world, no company can afford to be long winded or unclear. Your “pitch” (wherever and however it is communicated) must be immediately understandable. Think about how much time you’re willing to give a product, an ad, a tweet before you move on.

CONSISTENT

If you want your company to get stuck in someone’s head, like a song, you need to sing it over and over and over again. JUST because you’ve heard it and seen it all before — most are seeing it for the first time.

If you can get these three down, you’ll be on the road to great branding. Need help? Sign up to take our FREE webinar on the ROI of Branding here.
