Open Innovation in Healthcare: Bridging The Gap Between Ideation And Implementation

--

Part of the challenge of innovating within healthcare is that the really amazing stuff is buried deep within the organization. Too often, healthcare organizations look inward for inspiration and ideation, rather than outward to new market entrants, or those in adjacent industries.

The lack of communication, alignment, and diverse inputs can stifle prototyping and ultimately innovation.

This is why we are gathering some of the world’s most forward-thinking minds and healthcare innovators to a half-day of programming aimed at bridging the gaps across organizations and opening a dialogue about how to operationalize innovation.

Our ‘Open Innovation in Healthcare’ Pop-Up in San Francisco on Sunday, January 6 will focus on practitioners sharing what they’ve learned while hacking innovation from within their own organizations. It will bring valuable perspectives from healthcare system operators, funders, founders, and others with a bias towards action. In partnership with Ogilvy Consulting and humble ventures, we have convened practitioners from across the healthcare ecosystem to discuss how they overcome key challenges of making innovation work in their organizations.

The programming agenda will include a wide range of content, panels, and discussions on topics such as:

  • Introduction
  • Open innovation in healthcare
  • Commercialization overview: idea to implementation
  • Funding innovation: the VC perspective
  • Early stage innovation in health care delivery organizations
  • Early stage innovation in pharma, biotech, and medical devices
  • Showcase of 3/4 innovators
  • Mix and Mingle — Cocktails

The event will also showcase four startups building solutions for common challenges in healthcare as well as additional opportunities to network over cocktails.
