We’re Getting Innovative and Changing our Name: Mount Sinai Co-Lab Is Now Mount Sinai Innovation
In one year, we discovered that startups and large pharmaceutical companies, foundations, philanthropists, retail and technology firms are all interested in accessing/promoting/impacting healthcare breakthroughs built at the Mount Sinai Health System. These organizations are trying to forge relationships with top researchers for sponsored research, leveraging Mount Sinai’s scale and data for clinical validation of their own innovative products, and looking for Mount Sinai’s help in bringing new healthcare innovation to market.
We built an innovation program called the Mount Sinai Co-Lab to help organizations outside of the Mount Sinai Health System connect inside to the right partners. Today, we are pleased to announce Mount Sinai Co-Lab will be known as Mount Sinai Innovation, to match the evolution of the program into one that has a far more holistic and larger scale approach. Since launching, the program has undergone a significant transformation. What began as a small experiment has turned into something much larger, producing ten pop-up experiences and workshops across two continents and engaging with over 500 new stakeholders.
We believed it was time to rebrand to a name that reflects our mission and all that the program encompasses. The new identity had to satisfy all of the existing expectations of what our original mark stands for…while simultaneously driving healthcare forward.
We look forward to driving healthcare forward with our upcoming Pop-Up in London Wednesday, June 19.

Mount Sinai Innovation is an open innovation program designed to find solutions to healthcare challenges that have the potential to impact health globally. Solving tomorrow’s healthcare challenges requires today’s preeminent organizations to interface with healthcare systems in ways that they haven’t needed to in the past. Mount Sinai Innovation fosters long-term partnership between preeminent organizations and Mount Sinai’s forward-thinking leadership, faculty, and students. Participating organizations are matched with a navigator, a Connector-In-Residence across the Mount Sinai Health System that helps hone in on nodes of value and activate the right Mount Sinai resources to optimize partnership.
