DroidKaigi 2023 Day.3 Activities and Content

DroidKaigi 2023 will be held on 14–16 Sep 2023. Let’s look at some activities prepared for Day.3 of the conference!
Day.3 Activities
For DroidKaigi 2022, we held on Day.3 activities and content including
Advice sessions, codelabs, and Fireside Chats by the DroidKaigi staff.
These activities will be coming back with Day.3 of DroidKaigi 2023, which will continue on the first floor of the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden so you won’t find yourself lost after you’ve familiarized yourself with the venue on Day.1 and Day.2!
Note: There will be no live streaming of the event on Day.3.

Career Panel Discussion — Diverse work styles in engineering organizations
[Held at 11:00–12:00] Worried about your career? We will have engineers with various backgrounds as panelists to reply to your questions. They can consult you not only on organization related matters like evaluation and reward systems, but also on more personal topics such as childcare, work-life balance and skill improvement. Would you like to think about your worries together with the community? You can also post questions anonymously, so please feel free to join us.
Career Advice Sessions
[Helt at 13:20–16:00] We will also hold small group sessions with the panelists of the Career Panel Discussion. Don’t hesitate to ask more personal worries. The panelists may give you further/specific advice or help you see your situation from a different perspective.
- You do not need to have attended the Career Panel Discussion first, everyone is welcome.
- We are arranging for a reservation system, and we will inform you how to reserve a seat via X, emails and the official website later.
Meetups on different topics
We plan to organize several meetups about different topics. Here are the topics for Day.3 meetups:
- 12:00–13:20：Android-related technologies (Architecture, Jetpack Compose, any technology is welcome!)
- 15:00–16:00：Your DroidKaigi 2023 memories
Come talk with us and other attendees over lunch and/or snacks!
- Only limited seats are available, so please arrive early to the meeting point if you would like to join.
- For lunch-time meetups, you will need to go get your lunch box before showing up to the meetup.
- We will also have meetups on Day.1 and Day.2 with different topics. Look for updates on Medium for further updates.
Codelabs
DroidKaigi staff will recommend some codelabs from the official Google Codelabs. You can set up the codelab environment at the venue and get started there. Come join us and enjoy doing codelabs with other attendees and/or staff, and get a chance to learn about a wide range of technical topics!
- We will prepare the internet connection for the codelab and other events on Day.3.
- For a smoother experience, please have the latest version of Android Studio (Giraffe) installed before Day.3.
Office Tours
We will be organizing office tours of sponsor companies for scholarship program attendees. We will inform you of the details. Stay tuned!
Barista Coffee
Talk with other attendees around a delicious cup of coffee! Baristas from the Alpha Betti Cafe who brought us great coffee at DroidKaigi 2018 and 2019 will join us once again! Both hot and iced coffee will be served.
(Coffee will also be served on Day.1 and Day.2 as well!)
Wi-Fi on Day.3
Unfortunately, Wi-Fi will not be available to attendees on Day.1 and Day.2 (only for speakers and staff). There will, however, be free Wi-Fi available to everyone on Day.3 with the help of our friends at BeMap Inc.! In addition to the ordinary SSID/Password network, we are planning to provide a separate OpenRoaming network as well.
Lastly
Join us on Day.3 to get to know fellow attendees and deepen your knowledge of Android. Day.1 and Day.2 are full of content too, with sessions, booths, and other fun activities.
