Thai Harrington Restaurant
A Thai food quick fix in Sydney’s West
Located Shop 12, 23 Fairwater Drive, Harrington Park 2567
Part of the terrace of shops at Harrington Plaza, Thai Harrington Restaurant is a modest family-owned restaurant offering a delicious range of Thai favourites.

It’s a beloved restaurant and phones are constantly off the hook. Locals can’t get enough of the addictive noodles to the aromatic curries. Along with takeaway orders, the Thai Harrington Restaurant offers a fine dining option.
As soon as they entered, Gourmet Gumbo and Flame-Grilled were greeted by a beautiful Thai waitress and were escorted to a table near the window. Though it looks like a humble Thai restaurant on the outside, it exuded a luxurious feel with the leather seats, intricate decor and carefully folded origami-like napkins.

The menu was very clear and simple to read. Along with entrees, Thai Harrington Restaurant also offers a broad selection of curries, stir fries, noodles and rice dishes. From these options, patrons then have the difficult task of choosing vegetarian, beef, chicken, pork, tofu, king prawn, duck or seafood. Depending on the variety, the price varies from $11.90 to $17.90.

Flame-grilled is a regular customer at Thai Harrington Restaurant so he knew immediately what he wanted to order. He chose the popular Massamun Curry. Please note they only offer this type of curry with beef! Along with the tender beef, there was a generous serving of potato and carrot chunks. These vegetables were simmering in the curry for a while so all the delicious juices were retained in the soft vegetables.

To accompany the curry, the Thai waitress came around with a steaming silver serving bowl of jasmine rice. She served a hearty portion of rice onto Flame-grilled and Gourmet Gumbo’s plates, offering to serve more if need be.
The rice also accompanied the chosen stir-fry wonderfully. Gourmet Gumbo chose the Chilli Jam stir-fry with chicken breast at the waitress’ recommendation. Along with the chicken, the stir fry came with a colourful mix of vegetables, cashew nuts all coated in chilli jam sauce. The mixed vegetables were incredibly crunchy and balanced with the tender chicken.

The highlight of the meal was the Pad Thai. They ordered the king prawn version as Thai Harrington Restaurant is very well known for their fresh and delicious seafood. The presentation of the Pad Thai was impeccable. Gourmet Gumbo loved how the bean sprouts and crushed peanuts were gathered in different sections of the plate. It was an adventure using the spoon and fork provided to mix the individual ingredients together. The king prawns were massive and Gourmet Gumbo really loved its delicious, juicy flesh.

Overall
The Thai Harrington Restaurant is not like your local Thai restaurant. Usually Thai restaurants feel like local takeaway stores with no care or attention directed towards decor or ambiance. However, Thai Harrington Restaurant really tries to offer patrons with a fine dining experience. The waitresses are all very amiable, and the origami-folded napkins were a lovely touch even boosting the ambiance by 10 points! Though Harrington Park is a fair distance from central Sydney, it’s really a Thai treasure! The food is premium and the drive along M5 is like a great escape from the bustling CBD.
