The Pommery Cafe, Alexandria
The latest addition to Sydney’s growing brunch scene
Located 24A Ralph St, Alexandria NSW 2015
Meet the newest addition to Sydney’s brunch scene — The Pommery Cafe. Located in Alexandria, amidst the likes of brunch giants, The Grounds, John Smith Cafe and Bread & Circus, The Pommery Cafe fits right in with its vibrant brunch menu and fresh botanical decor. There’s a definite openness about the place as you walk in with plenty of natural light streaming through. The dainty, colourful bouquets from Grab a Bunch and irresistible pastries and cakes at the front counter create a homely feel, adding to the casual cafe charm.
Always, fresh juices are a must for our brunch dates in Spring. We ordered the Melon Time (watermelon, mint and lime) and Citrusness (orange, grapefruit, lime and lemon). Both equally refreshing. The Acai Berry Bowl was beautifully presented with rows of granola, goji berries, chia seeds and sliced apple. The Acai berries were blended with banana, almond milk and honey creating a nice, sweet gooey and healthy mixture underneath. Just the antioxidants and vitamins my body was asking for!
For a touch of savoury, we ordered the ‘Shrooms dish which consisted of a variety of mushrooms, sauteed with fried shallots on buttery brioche. This dish was full of flavour and the parsley aioli completed the dish perfectly. The So Corny dish was definitely corny — gluten free corn fritters paired with a zesty tomato salsa, perfectly poached eggs and parmesan. Crispy, crunchy, golden deliciousness!
Overall
The Pommery Cafe is a must-try brunch spot in Alexandria. There’s a lovely openness about the place that you will instantly fall in love with when you visit this place. Highly recommend the mushroom brioche toast and the Acai Berry Bowl!
