Q: What made you audition for “The Drowsy Chaperone”?

A: I auditioned because I wanted to prove to myself that I could be a part of a musical at Collin. I’ve wanted to be with this department forever. Also, I’ve always loved this style of dance and the time period. It’s such a blessing to be a part of this.

Q: What’s the process been like so far?

A: It’s been busy, but totally worth all the time. Everything is moving so incredibly fast already! I’m so impressed with how all of us have adapted to making this move along so quickly.

Q: Who is your character and what is she like?

A. I’m an ensemble member and maid. I like to sing, dance, pretend, and occasionally kazoo! But really though, I sing and dance and make the in-between scenes more realistic and busy.

Q: If you could be in any musical, what would it be?

A: Hamilton or Across the Universe. [That] would be amazing.

Q: What’s next for you after “The Drowsy Chaperone”?

A: Hopefully doing more shows at Collin since this is my first year here! Plus…….having a successful career as a choreographer.

Q: What’s something very few people know about you?

A: I’ve taken dance since I was three and when I was eight years old, I got the opportunity to sing at the Plano Balloon Festival with my dad on the radio.

You can see Abby and the rest of the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone at Collin College. Performances are February 25 — March 6.
