Meet Dane Hoffman …

“Join us for an incredible show. The students are truly triple threats and their talent, energy, and work ethics are boundless.” — Dane
Q: What made you audition for “The Drowsy Chaperone”?

A: I auditioned to work with my best friend again.

Q: What’s the process been like? Are you ready for the opening?

A: Show is incredible! Can’t wait to open and have an audience! The process this year has been extremely smooth.

Q: Who is your character and what is he like?

A. I play Mr. Feldzieg…the producer of Feldzieg’s Follies (a homage to Ziegfeld). He’s loud, pushy, a worrier…and probably (if there is one in this thinly laid plot) the antagonist. He wants to stop Janet’s marriage at all costs so he can keep her in his shows. In comedy terms (especially vaudevillian), he’s the mind among the idiots.

Q: If you could be in any musical, what would it be?

A: I’d like to be in Forum again before I’m too old.

Q: What’s next for you after “The Drowsy Chaperone”?

A: You might just see me at Collin Theatre Center this summer!

Q: What’s something very few people know about you?

A: This is my 12th show at Collin (and working with my best friend).

You can see Dane and the rest of the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone at Collin College. Performances are February 25 — March 6.
