With the launch of platforms such as Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter, social media has ushered in a new form of human interaction. This is characterized by the instant dissemination of personal experiences and the formation of global, dynamic communities bound by common interests and values.

Although the impact of social media on humanity has been largely positive, social media has unfortunately been besieged by numerous challenges. Probably the most conspicuous of which originates from nefarious community members who spam, scam, impersonate, troll, and bully fellow users. Other problems of social media arise from the platform operators themselves, who conduct censorship, shadow bans, account terminations, and display a general lack of accountability. These problems degrade the user experience, and in some cases may cause broad social disruption, nullifying much of social media’s positive impact. The potential for social media to unite communities and catalyze meaningful conversation relies on solving these difficult problems.

To address these problems, the Breakout Coin team is creating an exciting new blockchain platform called Drumora to compete directly with social messaging platforms like Twitter. Drumora seeks the following goals:

  • No ICO
  • No scam posts like “ETH giveaways”
  • No spam
  • No impersonation of known personalities
  • No censorship of controversial subject matter by a centralized authority
  • Reputation based — no centralized verification of IDs
  • Rewards paid to community to moderate content
  • True identity protection and privacy
  • No collection of personal information
  • No ads
  • No cyber-bullying

As a blockchain application, Drumora uses two specialized tokens. The first is DRUM, which allows users to moderate posts and earn rewards for doing so. The second token is MORA, which allows users to earn block rewards, which are given for securing the blockchain.

The original supplies of DRUM and MORA are derived from users’ current holdings in Breakout Coin (BRK) and Breakout Stake (BRX), respectively. BRK and BRX will become DRUM and MORA on a one to one basis. Additionally, the migration to Drumora will allow for continued support for existing, viable gaming use cases, such as breakoutpoker.com, that will seamlessly coexist with the Drumora messaging platform. All instructions and details on how BRK/BRX becomes DRUM/MORA will be available here.

Why the name Drumora?

Since prehistoric times, humanity has used the drum as a primitive form of wireless communication, often heard up to 25 miles away. In some communities, every man and most women had an individual drum-name, a fixed code sentence of drum beats. Using drums, a person far away from his or her community could be called to return to the village when needed, or a message could warn a community of danger.

Like the drum itself, Drumora is designed to fill this need for group communication, and at the same time eliminates censorship and exploitation of personal data. The decentralized design of Drumora also allows the community to moderate out scams, spam, identity theft, and cyber-bullying in a way that is resistant to exploitation by sock puppets.

We are extremely excited to embark on this new journey with our valued community. Weekly updates and notifications of upcoming events will be available on our newsletter. So come be a part of the Drumora family and follow our progress!

We are very grateful for all the support and loyalty from the community!

Thank you,
