- DB23 is alive in the world, and so so full of amazing literature and art. Sardinian art, Bulgarian literature, writing by members of the homeless community Glass House Shelter Project, translation, poetry, fiction, nonfiction. WE HAVE IT ALL. Read your heart out.
- Drunken Boat is currently accepting submissions in all genres! Reading until June 30, 2016. Send us your poetry, fiction, nonfiction, comics, and translation!
- Drunken Boat has launched a Patreon. If you dig what we do, consider becoming a supporter. You pledge an amount per issue (starting at $1!) and when we publish new issues your donation automatically comes to us. Simple, secure, and you can set a maximum so even if we published a million issues you’d still only donate what you’re comfortable with. Please tell us that all this amazing literature and art is worth $1 to you?

Lisa Ko (Fiction Editor) received the PEN/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction for her forthcoming novel The Leavers (Algonquin Books, 2017). And her short story “Pat + Sam,” (Copper Nickel, Fall 2015), was chosen for Best American Short Stories 2016, guest-edited by Junot Díaz.
Erica Mena (Editor) won the Hoffer Foundation First Horizon Award for her first book of poetry, Featherbone. Her translation of The Eternaut by H.G. Oesterheld & Francisco Solano López is a frontrunner for a 2016 Eisner Award with three nominations!
Anna Rosenwong (Translation Editor) has a new chapbook she translated available: AND THE OWNERS OF THE WORLD NO LONGER FEAR US by Victoria Guerrero Peirano (Cardboard House Press).
María José Giménez (Translation Assistant Editor) was awarded a 2016 NEA Grant for Translation for her translation of Rojo, amarillo y verde by Alejandro Saravia (forthcoming from Biblioasis). She’ll also be at the Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference this June!
Nick Potter (Comics Editor) has a new book out, too! New Animals is available from Subito Press.
Nic Wong’s (Poetry Assistant Editor) book of poetry Crevasse (Kaya Press) is a finalist for a 2016 Lambda Literary Award!
Sybil Baker (Fiction Editor) has some essays from her forthcoming book out to whet your appetite! “Wanderings: On Mary McCarthy’s “A Guide to Exiles, Expatriates, and Internal Émigrés” is up at Electric Literature, “Waiting for the Germans” is in the latest issue of Two Thirds North, and “Reverse Migrations” is on The Critical Flame.
Jenny Drai (Poetry Associate Editor) has a new book of poetry out, Wine Dark (Black Lawrence Press).
Peter Mishler (Interviews Editor) has a new poem out with Oversound.
Ching-In Chen (Poetry Assistant Editor) had their second book of poetry, recombinant, picked up by Kelsey Street Press! And they will be assistant professor at Sam Houston State University starting this fall.
Deanna Benjamin (NonFiction Assistant Editor) has an essay “On the Influence of Mentors” up on Brevity’s blog.
Allison Grimaldi-Donahue (Translation Assistant Editor) published a story, “Alone Time,” with Cosmonauts Avenue, and four poems with Dead King Magazine.
