One of our directors, Raymond Sun has had his take on the new interim report on AI policy that the government came out with this week

We can see the full Australian Parliament release here https://consult.industry.gov.au/supporting-responsible-ai

Here’s what others thought about it with HSF for example https://www.herbertsmithfreehills.com/insights/2024-01/australian-government-announces-mandatory-regulation-for-high-risk-AI

There was also the ABC report which included Minister Ed Husic but where experts criticised it as not doing enough

In other news, another member of our community, Mark (and his NotCentralised crew) had some good news being announced as tech partners for the upcoming Blockchain Australia Policy Forum where they’ll use their AI tool (SIKE) to analyse the upcoming meetings transcripts. You can see the announcement here:

And more on the AI tool from SIKE here

We also saw The Builders Club announcing their upcoming demo day in this post from Annie Liao so check it out

Here’s a great example of AI being used to not just translate the voice but to also change the image to make new Argentinian president Javier Millie speak in English even though the original was not

You can even test it against what Elon posted here as you can hear the translator

Deception in GPTs? Michael Kollo highlights this interesting paper on the topic from Anthropic

And an update to the AI regulations in Australia looks likely

Finally, Google was able to make a pretty big research breakthrough here with AI passing Math Olympiad tests

Stay curious and informed as we navigate the fascinating world of AI together!
