Developer Students’ Club(DSC), NIT Raipur organized a boot-camp on 4 topics- Machine Learning, Android App Development, Website Development (using Node.js) and Digital Marketing on 9th and 10th of March, 2019.

While I had been telling the enthusiastic participants about Digital Marketing, one of them asked, “Is Digital Marketing so easy? Why are people paid so much if Digital Marketing was so easy?”

Digital Marketing is simple indeed. But it’s not easy to do. Because one’s digital marketing skills are judged on the basis of the results produced which, doesn’t come overnight. Weeks and months of hard work, patience and perseverance are required in order to execute a successful digital marketing campaign.

Because marketing is not spamming. It’s not only about getting people to buy your product. It’s about creating a bond with who-so-ever comes to visit you, whether or not they’ll buy your product or use your service. It’s about providing people with value so that they stick to you. It’s about thinking through your customers’ brains.

And it’s not easy. Because with so many people trying to sell simultaneously, customers tend to get irritated. And among so many competitors, it is not easy to be someone who grabs the attention of customers, to hold it and to convince someone that your service is good enough so that they invest in it.

Some people simply try to copy other more influential digital marketing experts. But following tricks and tactics blindly without applying your own creativity will never make you successful. After all, no one knows your business and your goals better than you do.

Digital Marketing is a unique art. People invest a lot of time and energy in attaining mastery in this art. This is the reason why there is a high demand for digital marketers (and they are paid so well!).

It’s not even something that one gets to learn in a 2-day, 16-hour boot-camp, but you get some idea about it which is helpful to keep the interest intact in digital marketing and give them a direction in moving ahead. Knowledge is nothing unless one implements it. Practising digital marketing will teach you what it really is and practising it only will help you truly learn it.
