Selection Process at DSC, VIT Bhopal
Developer Student Clubs is an initiative of Google Developers. Google collaborates with DSC Leads once a year who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate university degree and supports them as they start and grow their on-campus community.
For a club to function efficiently, the members play a vital role. The smooth functioning and attainment of goals for a Club is no piece of cake.
In any DSC the structure is as follows :
We have the lead, who forms the core team along with the faculty coordinator. This core team takes all the major decisions, like organising the events, managing students and guests, handling the social pages, developing a basic roadmap for the year.
Meet the Core Team
At Developer Students Club we have,
- Dr L Shakkera as the Faculty Coordinator
- Abhishek Srivastava as the DSC Lead
- Sarthak Kundra as the Technical Lead
- Smit Barmase as the Web Lead
- Aman Sharma as ML Lead
- Siddhant Singh as Android Lead
- Surya Kumar as Android Co-Lead
- Ishika Kulkarni as the Content Writing and Digital Marketing Lead
- Anjali Singh as the Management Lead
- Hemang Maan as the Design Lead
- Vaishnavi Patel as WTM and Outreach Lead
Other than this, DSC’s have a Technical and Non-Technical team. These teams are the upholding blocks of the DSC. Any club is deficient without this supporting team.
Procedure for Selection
In our DSC family, we need people who care, who will contribute voluntarily and who have a mindset to give back to the community the most.
Below procedure will be followed for the recruitment :
- The interested participants must fill the form to be eligible for recruitment.
- Members from the core committee will shortlist the participants for the interview
- These shortlisted participants will be reviewed by the remaining members and the faculty advisor
- Date and time for the interview of the shortlisted members will be communicated through an official email
- If the participant clears the first round of the interview, we would be assigning a task, based on the field the participant has applied for
- If the task is well done another final interview will be conducted with the DSC Lead and the faculty advisor
- The participants who clear the final interview will be a part of the DSC
The process is not as difficult as it seems.
Advice from our end
If you want your forms to be selected, make sure you follow the following points :
- Highlight your Achievements on your Linkedin profile
- De-clutter your GitHub
- Make sure you jot down all your achievements in the form
- During the interviews, be humble and think of how you can give back to the community
