“Our role is changing, as women leaders. We need to be mobilizers and beginners. You have to be yourself. Be a community builder, and share knowledge.”
- Padmasree Warrior

Whenever it came to technology, women were looked down upon or did not bother to express their views on the matter. When it comes to technology, women do not intend to be part of this world. Why? What’s wrong with a woman wanting to be an engineer or showing interest in technology?

To answer those questions and to help other women break the stereotype, we just need a motivational example and guess what we have one such example.

Padmasree Warrior

Padmasree Warrior, the name itself is enough to inspire someone. With more than two decades of technical experience, she is one of the most recognizable trailblazers in the industry. Her story breaks the stereotype of gender in technology. She is often referred to as the most powerful woman in technology.

In her first years of professionalism, she served as Chief Technology Officer at Motorola until 2007. She then worked for Cisco Systems, taking the company to next level with her role as CTO. Warrior currently serves on the board of directors of companies such as Microsoft and Spotify. That’s not all about her, she currently works as the Founder, President and CEO of Fable. Fable’s goal is to become the world’s leading mobile service for selected reading; where people can share private groups and creators can publish them themselves.

Her message to all the women in society is, “Don’t go with the attitude thinking I can have a career or a family; go with the attitude that I can have both. When you go with that attitude, you can and will have both.”

It has been noticed that everyday women end up prioritizing. The secret to the success of women in both professional and personal life is by letting them be able to think that they can manage both and not one at the cost of the other.

With less than a quarter of women working in India, more and more multinational companies are taking steps to increase their numbers. Indian technology companies are also seeing a change. Padmasree has already made her mark as a business leader, there is a new generation of women too who are doing it and making efforts to bring about a paradigm change in their ways.
