Developer Student Club (DSC) had organized a seminar and workshop on Machine Learning on 6th April 2019. The seminar was aimed to give informative session to the students on deep learning and machine learning. Workshop registrations were done for selected students who have cracked the Hacker Rank test.

The participants were in glut, and the workshop got a vehement response after its announcements.

The seminar was conducted in Seminar Hall. All the committee members were present before the time for the arrangement and introduction of the speaker. Dhruv Apte was the speaker for the seminar, he is the MLCC Facilitator and Google Cloud Study Jam Facilitator at GDG Baroda. He had conducted seminars related to machine learning for the last two years at various institutions and organizations like IIT Kharagpur. He has been one of the maintainer of awesome NLP, one of the leading open-source NLP GitHub repositories. He is an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Student at G.H Patel College of Engineering & Technology. He briefed about the intricate network of Deep Learning and the audience was schmoozing with questions. Faculty members of the Computer Department also joined the seminar. Prof. Jatayu Baxi Sir governed the seminar and guided the team members. The presentation was carried out smoothly, various mathematical concepts were targeted to discuss.

After the lunch break, the workshop for shortlisted students gets started. The venue of the workshop was in LAB-5, Computer Engineering Department, DDU. Arrangements in the laboratory were done with a projector and other peripherals. As participants started arriving, attendance was marked respectively. With no dilatory tactics, the workshop started on time.

Dhruv Apte mentored the students In the next segment of the workshop in a didactic manner. All the participants were mailed beforehand with all the prerequisites needed. The participants worked out with scrupulosity and authenticity stepwise. He highlighted the quotidian concerns with germane to the theme. The team members supported the participants who were facing problems. Students experienced a hands-on session on Google Colab using Tensorflow, Fashion MNIST recognizer was implemented.

Afterwords for the event

Group Photograph was taken, and the session was wrapped up. DSC is entrenched to conducive learning and is a cornucopia of technical knowledge under the university. The workshop received approbatory reviews. The team members were bolstered and sedulously conducted the workshop.
