Medium 101

Medium is a great and easy software to publish your own writing.

Steps to Publishing your Writing on Medium

Step 1: Start with creating an account

Step 2: Click on the face siloutte in the upper right hand corner

Step 3: Click New Story

Step 4: Add a title and start writing your story below

Editing TIPS

The mini-menu that comes up and allows users to embed content or create a section divider.

1. By pressing the add symbol at the beginning of a line you can add a photo, video, embed content or add space and three dots to separate your story

2. Highlight text to edit text, bold, italic, create a hyperlink, format the selection as a quote, or create a large-letter to introduce a new paragraph

Publishing

1. Upper right hand corner click “Publish”
2. Add tags so your article can be found through searching phrases or words
3. Choose whether to schedule the release of your article
4. Choose your audience whether you would like it to be public, Medium members only or only you can view it
5. Choose a license option
6. Now Press Publish
7. If you need to add it to a class publication: Go to the right upper corner click on the three dots and press add to publication
