My Fried Brain

In my mind I’m barren and my thoughts are just dry.

“My teacher said create this assignment.”

My response is just why?

“It’s to learn and be excited!” He pushed out to me.

And while my mouth and body said, “Let’s do it!”

My brain upstairs is saying, “Fuck no baby!”

But I had to be a trooper.

My mama raised me right.

Because while he said the assignment would be exciting.

He didn’t say my work had to be nice.
