Beyoncé has without a doubt set the bar in creativity when it comes to productions in her shows, and of course her surprise album drops and HBO premieres. Her courageous music, very powerful stage presence and miraculous image has become known as the essence of girl power and allowed her to inspire a generation of women all over the world. The lead singer of the legendary group, Destiny’s Child, and one of the most successful solo performers of all time, Beyoncé exciting career has been marked by several accolades and accomplishments. Although she has so many high points in her career, she’s managed to preserve her presence to her audience through various social media outlets, Instagram being her most used one. I believe that Beyoncé has used various forms of digital media in order to maintain notoriety while simultaneously promoting exclusivity. Even though she doesn’t communicate to the fans directly via her social media, she allows her pictures to tell us stories about her life as well as subliminal messages.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is obviously known for being one of the biggest stars in the world. Born in 1981, she knew what she wanted to be at an early age. From competing in talent shows and winning many pageants by impressing audiences with her singing and dancing abilities, she had a big dream and that was to be a performer. Beyoncé been exploring many different projects in her career. She has proved to many people of her dedication and broad talents that lead her to be one of the most successful women in the Industry. She is now currently married with 3 children and still manages to keep the longevity of her career at a high peak. Part of that is through her social media.

Being that she is one of the hottest celebrities of this generation, people are intrigued to see what kind of life she lives. Beyoncé has admitted to being a very private person despite the fame and stardom. She believes that the life of a celebrity should not be invaded by the acts of social media and gossip blogs. This led her to not be as tech savvy as we’d hope she would be. As a result of her being out of the radar, this creates a mystique sensation about her, thus making people interested in her and her private life. It is essentially impossible to exist in our culture without hearing about what she’s up to. We are highly aware of and, as a whole fan base, obsessed with her musical productivity and her public persona. Truth is that would most likely not change even if she had absolutely no social-media presence.

Beyoncé currently has an Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook page and of all three, she only really uses Instagram frequently. We obviously know how popular Instagram has gotten over the years of our social media shift of the culture. It is known for being a social networking app that allows its users to share pictures and videos with their friends and followers. So many celebrities have created their pages in hopes of building platforms and using it for marketing reasons as well as the building of their brand. Many people kick off their careers on this app. High brand companies allow many users to endorse their brand via the app. Instagram is also used to spread awareness around the world (thanks to those users to uses their platform) including Beyoncé. With over 115 Million followers and following 0, Beyoncé is clearly only here for the posts and less socializing. We can see that she uses it as a marketing tool, while also telling stories through her famous 3-post usages. She also spreads awareness (Hurricane Harvey in Houston, and the Freedom for Girls movement) and uses her foundation ‘BeyGood’ to give back to the communities all over the world from low-income cities in America to communities in Haiti.

Beyoncé manages to tell a variety of stories via her instagram posts. She manages to control her social-media reach and create even more mysteriousness and secrecy around her brand through her posts. She uses it to reinforce narratives or promote her collaborators or friends. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, since she doesn’t really give interviews, Beyoncé does not usually offer her followers more than the images alone themselves (very rarely having captions under the photos). But this is exactly what makes Beyoncé Beyoncé; she doesn’t need captions because the photos do the talking. She sparks hints behind her posts frequently — hence her post of a lemon in September 2015 followed by the surprise drop of her sixth album Lemonade in April 2016.People all over the world were absolutely taken away by that act and it reached to a point of leading her fans to wondering what subliminal messages she gives behind each post. From selfies, to full body posts of her styled out fits, Beyoncé uses this digital media outlet to connect with her fans her way, and we’re content with that. She’s at a high point of her career and doesn’t need the platform of a social media to promote her and her brand. She always leaves us wanting more!
