I welcome you to my first Case study for designing AR experiences that I have created during my learning phase at Designerrs Academy, and I’d love to hear your feedback!

Heuristic Violations & Corrections

Visibility of system status

Before Violation

The system status was not visible when the user clicked on the “Tops” button and proceeded to the next scene to view the tops, without any indication.

After Correction

Now users can see the system status as the Top button is ‘Highlighted’ once the users click on the ‘Tops” button.

Alignment of real and virtual world

Before Violation

Alignment was an issue, the avatar was too big while imposing on the real room and the user was unable to see the entire podium.

After Correction

Initially, I had used vertical alignment which was not aligned with the real environment and I changed the alignment to horizontal, the user was able to view the entire podium and avatar in their real room.

View Avatar

How cool is it to view your avatar in your fitting room and able to see the 360° view of the avatar and be able to walk around and experience the immersive technology?

View Tops

Users can browse through the products available along with their specifications. Users can walk around the product to have a closer view of the colour and texture.

Rewards & Surprises

Users are rewarded with offers when walk they around the avatar to take a close look at the fit of the garment, for the first time.

My Take Away

“Unlocking Immersive Potentials: The Adventure Has Just Begun!”

With the online fashion market tipped to grow by 32% in the next few years, clothing try-on experiences will be among the top e-commerce conversion hacks for those seeking to overcome low online conversion rates. Let’s not discount the fact that it becomes more complicated with the apparel and its realistic look on people.

Augmented reality apps for shopping have become the best solution for online shops as they can easily transform into virtual dressing rooms. They give users a chance to try on AR clothing, persuading them to hit that “buy” button.
