Genesys Partners, the team contributing to Dtravel, is excited to announce that Ethan Eismann will be joining as a Design Advisor.

Ethan is passionate about the design of global platforms that create economic empowerment, improve trust and belonging, and impact billions of people across the world.

Currently serving as the SVP of design at Slack, Ethan has extensive experience in some of the most recognizable tech companies in the world.

Before Slack, Ethan was the director of design at Airbnb. Managing a team of over 100 designers, researchers, content strategists and program managers, his significant influence on the user experience and design of the largest home-sharing platform in the world remains integral to Airbnb’s global appeal.

Prior to Airbnb, Ethan led the global product design team at Uber as well as Google’s Commerce UX team. At Google, he was in charge of designing and building shopping, travel, and payment experiences, including Google Trips (now known as Google Travel). Under Ethan’s direction, the Commerce UX team grew from 20 people to 80 people during his 4.5-year tenure.

When not pursuing his passion for product design, Ethan likes to keep bees, spend time with his kids and take the dogs running.

Why Ethan joined the advisory team:
“Community is the cornerstone of the home-sharing economy. But true community, and the trust it generates, is difficult to cultivate. Dtravel’s DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) provides a clear path towards true community because it incentivizes positive, trusting relationships between community members.”

Ethan’s favorite place to travel:
“While I love traveling to many destinations across the world, I can’t get enough of California. From the mountains of Tahoe to Yosemite, and from the desert of Joshua Tree and Palm Springs to the beaches of Southern California and the rugged coast of Northern California, there is a world of diversity only hours away from where I live.”

Ethan’s favorite travel memory:
“My wife and I had a great trip to Costa Rica before we had our first child. I just loved surfing one day then venturing through an orchid park in a cloud forest the next. The biodiversity of Costa Rica was stunning.”
