New Dtravel Advisor: Introducing Sébastien Borget

Genesys Partners, the team contributing to Dtravel, welcomes its newest addition to the all-star team, Sébastien Borget, as its Growth Advisor.

Sébastien is the Co-Founder and COO of The Sandbox, one of the most popular decentralized gaming platforms. The Sandbox is a virtual world where over 40 million players build, own and monetize their own gaming experiences on the Ethereum blockchain. The Sandbox disrupted the gaming industry by allowing creators to own their creations as NFTs and secure copyright ownership over them.

After graduating from one of the top engineering schools in France, Sébastien quickly took leadership roles by co-founding several startups in Web 2.0 and mobile gaming, which were subsequently acquired. He also became the President of the Blockchain Game Alliance in 2020 and has grown it to over 250 companies.

In 2011, the entrepreneur co-founded Pixowl, a prominent mobile gaming studio that develops player-centric worldbuilding experiences combined with character-driven narratives. Due to its massive success, Pixowl was acquired by Animoca Brands in 2018. As its COO, Sébastien has led operations of Pixowl’s 50 international teams and supervises the production and marketing of some of its most popular games, including Snoopy’s Town Tale, Addams Family Mystery Mansion and the mobile version of The Sandbox, which has gathered 40M installs.

Sébastien is a dad, evangelist and active speaker who has spent the past 14 years working in startups advancing mobile gaming and setting industry standards in blockchain gaming.

Sébastien is most excited about: from my very first international trip to Hong Kong to one of the hundreds of global cities I have visited for business or leisure, travel is an important part of shaping our life, culture, thought process and mind openness to the world. Taking that culture, rewarding hosts and travelers through NFTs and creating a model that empowers both is what attracted me to Dtravel. Being rewarded for building personal memories is an amazing concept.

Sébastien’s favorite travel memory is: biking down Mount Batur in Bali with my wife and our fantastic host, who welcomed us in his family for lunch and openly shared all his way of life.
