Dandelions, love them or hate them.

They are the bane of the perfect lawn people. They must be poisoned out of existence.

I’m the other extreme, more is better. I even acquired the seeds for the pink variety seen in the photo above.

Dandelions provide early pollen and nectar to bees and other pollinators.

You can make wine and jelly from the blossoms. The early greens are full of nutrients and are said to be a liver tonic.

In the fall the roots are dried for tea and roasted as a coffee substitute.

The blooms soothe the winter weary soul.
