Linear Finance — A summary:

Linear Finance is the first cross-chain compatible, decentralized delta-one asset protocol to create, trade, and manage synthetic assets (Liquids), and acts as a faster, cheaper, safer, and easier to use alternative compared to other synthetic asset protocols.

Linear Finance’s protocol is supported by it’s native ERC-20 Linear Token (LINA). The utility of this token within the ecosystem is used for — staking in the collateral pool, liquidity mining, governance and investing in synthetic “Liquids” on investment assets with infinite liquidity and no slippage.

Linear Finance also features -

  • Minimal transaction fees and instantaneous execution at every touch point of the protocol
  • A seamless experience for all users, no matter if you are a staker, trader or market maker
  • Fairness and transparency throughout Linear Finance’s trading exchange, reducing systemic risk
  • Built on Ethereum with cross-chain compatibility to maintain connectivity with the DeFi ecosystem.
  • Creative thematic exposures in addition to standard Liquids such as digital assets, commodities, forex, and market indices.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Hello everyone, welcome to another AMA with the DuckDAO 🔥🔥🔥. Today we have Kevin and Drey from Linear Finance. Hey guys!!

Kevin

Hello!!!!!!!!!

Drey

Hello Ken! Glad to be here

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Nice one, love to have you here!

Kevin

Hello everyone, it’s an absolute pleasure to be here and thank you very much for the invitation. Let me start off by saying that as one of our early strategic investors, we were truly blessed to have the Duck Duck Dao with us early in the journey and the tremendous value they brought to our project. So a big thanks from Drey and I.

Drey

Yes, very thankful for this. For any projects in DeFi and crypto in general, getting started on the right foot is very important and you guys really gave us that momentum. It must be the combination of strong leadership, a damn good execution plan, and the power of the community.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

So general info upfront, we have prepared around 20 questions from the community, and try to go through it within one hour. Before we dive in, could you please tell us more about yourselves — what are your backgrounds and how did you find yourselves in the crypto space?

Kevin

I actually come from a traditional finance background but started my journey in crypto as a miner. I mined with FPGA’s and was heavily involved in the community building bitstreams. But during that time I began investing in a number of promising crypto projects. Over the last year and a half in DeFi, I see the true value and how revolutionary it is in terms of being able to disintermediate financial markets and it’s middlemen.

Career wise, I started my career in Silicon Valley at a boutique investment bank doing M&A for enterprise/mobile software companies, subsequently went to business school and then spent the last +13 years doing collateralized debt and structured products for bulge bracket banks in Asia.

Drey

Again, thanks everyone for taking the time to speak with us. My background includes both banking in trade finance and trading floor doing FX and rates, and am leading the product side of one of the largest Security Token Offering companies in Asia called Liquefy. I led multiple tokenization projects with one of the largest real estate families in Asia, hedge funds and semi-government bodies. My vision ever since my transition from banking to blockchain/crypto has been to disrupt the traditional banking system and offer permissionless financial asset access for the mass public. That’s exactly what DeFi is trying to solve and how Kevin and I got started.

Now I lead the product development at Linear and I bring to the table a wealth of experience of banking and finance and creating institutional-ready products with interoperability on blockchains such as Ethereum, Quorum, and NEO, focusing on high throughput, security, and scalability.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Amazing. Thanks Drey. How would you explain Linear Finance to someone not familiar with crypto?

Kevin

We believe the ultimate long term goal of Linear Finance is to democratize investments assets to all users. The size of traditional finance markets are massive. Just the commodities and ETF markets are trillions of dollars. Derivatives are even larger . These markets are filled with middlemen and more often than not inaccessible to many investors. Linear is creating synthetic versions of commonly traded assets, allowing traders all around the world to trade efficiently and disintermediating these middlemen.

But, look at where we are now in terms of DeFi’s system architecture. The system is now fraught with the same friction that plagued our traditional finance systems. Friction such as long settlement/transaction times, high transaction fees, and asymmetric information that turns away users/traders like ourselves. This is particularly relevant in synthetic asset protocols where user interaction is high.

Hence, this is why we built Linear Finance, the first cross-chain compatible, decentralized synthetic asset exchange with creative investable synthetic assets, unlimited liquidity, and no slippage. We use our cross-chain integrations as an imminent L2 solution to scaling/high gas fees and as a result, Linear Finance is fast, easy, cost-effective, safe, and ready to use for ALL users, ranging from new digital asset entrants to experienced crypto traders.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

And how does the solution that Linear Finance is building differ from existing solutions? What is the disruptive part about your concept?

Drey

We differ from existing solutions because we are built for cross chain compatibility and this is how it works in our protocol. We are providing a COMPLETE scaling solution. Speed / scalability issues are solved because all the smart contract logic such as building ℓUSD (Linear’s synthetic USD) and trading for synthetic asset exposure (Liquids) can be done on EVM-compatible chains such as BSC (and other partner chains), with a much higher TPS, low block time, and much less gas fees. This means your transactions are faster and cheaper and price discovery is fast so you don’t get frontrun.

Here’s the next best thing. Even though LINA is ERC-20 based, users can acquire LINA tokens in all the supported chains, use Linear Finance to conduct their transactions and subsequently move their assets to any of our supported chains, further increasing interoperability. And our protocol can accept tokens from the other chains (for staking into our collateral pool). With Linear, the ability to access the upcoming BSC BEP-20 DeFi ecosystem will have tremendous approval.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Ok, a long question will follow now. Your fingers will hurt after this AMA most likely …

One of the things that is eye catching on your site is the range of assets that are supported. Bitcoin, Oil, Coffee, and Market Indices make sense but can you talk a little bit about how you go about creating a synthetic asset for E-sports or sustainability? Are we talking about something akin to an NFT or stocks in sustainable companies?

Drey

Haha bought myself a mechanical keyboard for all the AMA!

Kevin

The overarching theme for the synthetic asset offerings is creativity. We will have the standard synthetic digital assets, commodities, and market indices, but our team is currently curating a number of “Digital Traded Funds” (DTFs) which will be based on thematic digital exposures. On the asset pipeline going forward, this will also include structured and leveraged products. For synthetic assets such as E-Sports, we are working one prediction market but we need to make sure these are synthetic assets that can be created safely for users. The idea of NFT’s is quite novel and in this area, we are looking at creating user portfolio NFT’s and would love to get input from the community on building this. We are really looking into the E-sports category as we think the market is big and there are certain projects like Bet Protocol who are really good at this.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

And are there any limits to what can be converted to be a synthetic asset? Will this be fully dictated by the LinearDAO?

Kevin

That’s actually a really good question.

Technically there are no limits on what can be converted to be a synthetic asset as long as there is a data feed where we can fetch prices. Going forward for assets, we will get to a point where the LinearDAO will be responsible for the approval of the creation, listing of our synthetic assets and modifications of the DTFs

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Can you talk a little bit about the LinearDAO and what kind of things that participants will have a say in structuring? Are there any controls in place to stop a couple of powerful users with a lot of capital taking over all of the decisions?

Kevin

Yeah, we spent quite an amount of time working on the DAO structure and what responsibilities would be given to the community.

Once the LinearDAO governance system is established, which will happen quite soon, users will be able to decide on the P-Ratio, mix of LINA/Other Tokens in our collateral pool, inflationary token ratio, amount of exchange fees and its corresponding splits and as mentioned, and the approval of synthetic Liquids. The question in regards to control provisions is very good and hotly debated amongst us who are considering governance. How much control do we give to the community and yes, what if we have some big bad characters take over the protocol? We are finalizing the details on this and will announce it in due time but our governance design will be focused on fairness and decentralization. We don’t want any bad hombres to essentially take over our project, otherwise Drey (Asian Vitalik) would probably faint…

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

In terms of DAOs the Ducks are also experts. If you need some advice, we are here too :)

Let’s dive a little into the people behind Linear.

Kevin

Haha we would welcome you into our DAO

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

How big is the Linear.Finance team? We can see that you have yourselves, JinSong and Jinhua listed as key members on your website, but how many people do you have in your development/marketing etc. teams?

Kevin

The entire team consists of 16 people with over two-third on the development team. The others would include key leadership (Drey and Kevin), an operations person (someone needs to pay and keep track of the bills) and three individuals that are working on marketing and partnerships. Hard to really define roles right now because at the end of the day we all work and support each other so all of us eventually end up wearing dual hats.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

How does cross-chain compatibility work on Linear.Finance, and how will this feature benefit users of the Buildr and Linear Exchange?

Drey

This is a very interesting question! For cross-chain protocols there are usually 2 approaches on that, first is setting up a chain using SDK like Cosmo’s one to spawn a chain which is tailored to communicate with other chains.

However, this actually has the security problem as in the consensus security is by its own, say DPOS for most of the projects taking this approach. It would actually add another layer of risk in securing the stability of the application, such as who to be appointed as the limited node members and what if they misbehave. Also, somehow it is an “overkill” for a specific use-case to have a stand-alone blockchain which requires a lot of supporters in order to stay secure and safe.

Second approach is to build up bilateral bridges to other chains for traffic alleviation. Instead of blindly accepting as many chains as we can, we take the highest likelihood “Ethereum Contender” as the Layer-2 solution of Ethereum. For example, our first implementation is on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) because of its community and tech compatibility. We are also looking into some other “Ethereum Contender” and we are very selective on that as we foresee the future of blockchain as Inter-chain (just like the concept of Internet). We believe there will be a couple of winners in terms of different regions and use-cases and Linear’s approach is to grow with the winners together in the long run instead of being bound by a single blockchain. Stay tuned for more announcements on which chains we are going to integrate with next.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Ok, I see that you know what you are talking about. Strong answers. I like it.

Drey

Thanks :)

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

The screenshot on your website for the Buildr app seems to show a connected metamask wallet — does this mean that this will be as simple as using any of the food/meme farming coin sites such as sushi/pylon/farm etc. (Sorry if I didn’t mention your favourite farming coin haha).

Drey

Image for post
Image for post

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

I forgot to mention hotdog and sake :)

Drey

Haha you are an observant man. That’s exactly right. We spent quite a lot of time on providing the best UX/UI. We are fully aware that Metamask is so far the best and most supported wallet solution in the Web3 space. Using our platform would be as easy as other food farms, but much better experience because we are solving the high gas fee and clogging issue. Even though Linear is a cross-chain protocol, we are first integrating with those EVM-compatible chains (e.g. Binance Smart Chain) so that users can remain their entire journey in metamask by simply adding a RPC network link of our partner chains. We are also in talks with the partner chain protocol so they may be able to subsidize some of the gas fee to go through the migration.

Kevin

What about burgers?

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

I am sure this already exists, if not, after this AMA it will :)

I’ve got a two part question here:

  1. How much do your friends and connections in traditional finance talk about crypto? Do they look at the APYs that we’ve seen from the market in the last month or so and think that the whole space is a scam or are they maneuvering themselves to take advantage of the opportunities?

Kevin

hahah… are we going to discuss Greyscale Bitcoin, ETH or LTC fund?? Zzzzzzzzz

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

lol! 😂

Kevin

So our DeFi TVL based on DeFi Pulse today is ~8.6bn USD. On a comparative basis to traditional finance, this is tiny. Think about the most popular ETF for S&P 500, the AUM (Traditional finance’s version of TVL) is USD 113bn. So DeFi is really just a microcosm compared to the old financial markets and I would say the vast majority of traditional finance guys really have no idea about DeFi. At best, they hear about digital assets when Bloomberg or other media channels announce large rises in Bitcoin.

or drops…..

I know many that have started looking into DeFi because they hear about the high yield opportunities but are immediately stuck once they open up any of the DeFi dapps because the UI/UX is really confusing. We as users are simply just used to this and it really will be a barrier when we try to bring new users into this space.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Second part of the question: Are you guys targeting traditional finance or is the current focus of Linear.Finance capturing a large part of the crypto market?

Kevin

It’s like two different worlds to me……..

In the short term, we will focus on the existing crypto market as the market is still growing and we have enough room to capture and grow our TVL. Long term, we will look towards traditional finance but so many barriers we need to overcome such as our scaling issues, usability, education, composability (how are we going to get traditional market assets into our architecture/ecosystem) and the biggest elephant in the room, regulatory.

Financial markets aren’t going to take kindly to being disintermediated. We are a tick now but once bigger, we will end up on their radar.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Amazing. Do you have plans or goals to tap into the volume of existing Dex’s or Cex’s? What is your core focus area, and how do you plan to drive volume for the Linear Exchange?

Drey

Definitely. The reason why existing synthetic asset exchanges are unable to capture the volume is because they are slow, expensive and have serious oracle problems. We will solve the above issues with high performance partner chains so that the platform is usable on day 1.

On the other hand we are working with different protocols to promote the use of ℓUSD and other liquids so that people would need to build Liquids on our platform for trading, yield farming and asset transfer.

On the other hand, Linear’s platform inflation would be quite “lucrative” to start with in order to drive platform growth. We believe that would be compensated later on by the organic trading fee split when the volume grows gradually.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Delta-One asset protocol is obviously your defining feature, down to the name Linear. What motivated the team to choose this model as the exclusive pillar around which to build an exchange? Are there benefits beyond the straightforward understanding a new trader might develop, as opposed to learning a strategy of hedging options? Is it risk management for the LINA pool as the DeFi lynchpin of the exchange as opposed to a counterparty system?

Kevin

Really good question.

Delta one products are basically financial derivatives that have no optionality and as such have a delta of (or very close to) one — meaning that for a given instantaneous move in the price of the underlying asset there is expected to be an identical move in the price of the derivative. And, A delta one product is a derivative with a linear, symmetric payoff profile. LOL… Yeah, basically a cool nifty way to describe a “synthetic asset”

We chose this exclusive pillar because we love the business model and we think it has the most potential going forward. We are building this because we want to give people access to creative synthetic assets, assets that we and the community build and we want to be the leader within the space. And with the best system architecture to be the best synthetic asset protocol.

We are really focused on synthetic assets and we prefer not to be just another DeFi player that comes out and tells people they want to be AMM, Borrower/Lender, synthetic assets, and the rest of the DeFi product buffet. Because at the end of the day, developer resources are limited, teams are small, Drey/Jinsong only have enough hours in the day to change the world, and what you get is that you are good at everything but great at nothing and we don’t want to be that project.

Our synthetic asset products are simple because it’s all about making it easy and cost-effective for users to get access to assets and we build from that. Will we eventually offer option/leverage products? Probably once we have the product built right so it fits within our architecture and debt pool but this market space is very crowded and I don’t think we need another DeFi project to figure out how to give you guys a 10000x perp contract on ETH or YFI.

Lastly, you are exactly right. If we want to move away from the counterparty system, the farther away we go, the more and tighter the risk management needs to be. Ultimately this would hinder key attributes of the protocol such as “unlimited liquidity”

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Perfect. Thank you

What do you see as your biggest challenge to establishing Linear Finance as the leading decentralized asset protocol? How do you plan to overcome these challenges?

Drey

Biggest challenge we ultimately face as a protocol just like everyone else is gaining mass adoption. The revenue model for Linear Finance is based on our exchange fees. Hence, the more users we have that build and trade our Liquid synthetic assets, the more fees we generate for ourselves and our users. Therefore, we implement forms of push pull marketing to achieve user adoption and the building of our Liquid assets. 1. We have a certain amount of allocations in our token metrics to reward users for staking but we will be adding bonus rewards for users who purchase liquids. In addition, we are beginning discussions with other DeFi players within the ecosystem to accept our Liquids onto their protocols, effectively driving demand for our Liquids. In addition, there will be substantial marketing promotions in order to provide education and adoption (can talk more about that later).

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Let’s go to the LINA token for a moment. What is the utility of LINA token within the ecosystem and what makes Linear Finance different to Synthetix.

Kevin

Our ERC-20 LINA token serves as the backbone of our protocol. It is used for staking, yield farming, and the building of our LUSD to purchase our “Liquid” synthetic assets.

Many would compare us with Synthetix but SNX is built for Ethereum and not optimized for faster chains while we are. We have an edge based on our cross chain compatibility.

Binance Smart Chain actually holds substantial potential for us. With our protocol, our users are able to build BEP-20 versions of our LINA tokens and our Liquid synthetic assets thus allowing them to interact with the other DeFi protocols that will soon exist in Binance’s DeFi ecosystem. This ultimately opens up a pathway to new markets and users as Binance has a captive audience of +400K accounts and over 150+ fiat on-ramps. This will allow us to reach new customers that are inaccessible to SNX due to the complex nature of web3.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

And can you please elaborate on the benefits of holding $LINA long term as an investor?

Kevin

In the long run, LINA holders get a share of the exchange fees generated but I think that’s a small part. The true value of a LINA holder is that you can stake this to earn rewards and use it to build LUSD and either get exposure to any of our Liquid synthetic assets OR move it off to our protocol to build your DeFi lego piece on another platform across MULTIPLE ecosystems. The ability to bridge the chains and have this level of composability in a manner that is cost-efficient, quick and easy to use is powerful.

Oh yeah… also you can be a member of our DAO

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

That’s important!

What will be the inflation reward for LINA? (As mentioned on your site).

Kevin

We mention inflation rewards because within our tokenomics we have a set amount of tokens set out for staking rewards. Ultimately these will run out and it’s possible that we may implement some form of inflation to continue to incentivize stakers. But this figure and if and when we will do it is still up for discussion and in the long run will be decided by the members of the LinearDAO. Very sensitive as it can have everlasting effects on circulating supply and price so best to think this thoroughly.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Interesting. How scalable will the platform prototype (Testnet) be?

I hope you still have some time…. we have another 5 questions :)

Drey

In mid October we will be launching our testnet on Ethereum and conduct second stage code auditing. In mid November there will be the official launch with first cross-chain integration with BSC, which has an average block time of 5 second, around 1–10th of what Ethereum gas fee (in normal situations of course :P) and much faster oracle update.

We encourage the community to come try out our testnet and give comments so it can be better when launched.

Afterall it is a DeFi product for everyone and we are pushing towards a DAO model.

Kevin

No worries… we will get through them!

Drey

Sure, as long as it’s for you guys!

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Thanks guys. Can you provide a breakdown of how you will spend the funds that you collect during your private-sale pre-sale and public sale?

Kevin

In this regard, we have been quite prudent in the spending of our funds. I will say the majority of the funds will be focused on paying salaries of the development team as they are the key foundation of the protocol and are important in getting the protocol launched and continued integrations with other DeFi protocols. The remaining funds will be allocated to our community marketing efforts and then keeping the lights on and paying the salaries of support staff and key leadership team.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Do you have plans to publish a white paper/provide some further detail around your exchange’s legal compliance and limited jurisdiction if any?

Drey

We are currently set up as a foundation but are already in the process of transitioning into a DAO structure. We have a plan for this and we will publish a white paper that gives an overview and function of our DAO later on.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Let’s finish with some hype questions! What kind of marketing activities have you planned to spread the word about Linear Finance?

Kevin

Are we going to have yield farming to collateralize our debt pool? Yes we will and will make an announcement on this soon. We intend to be very community focused so our marketing activities for Drey and myself will be pounding on the doors to spread the word and educate prospective users of the captive TG community groups in the western / european markets and in Key markets in Asia such as China, Korea, Vietnam, and other SE Asian markets.

Obviously we will be looking for Linear Super Users and will have a referral and Ambassador program to incentivize adoption and WOM marketing. We will also be working with a number of influencers to drive further education and also have exposure to their own captive audiences.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Massive. I like it :)

What are the key milestones on your roadmap — both things you have already achieved and things that we can look forward to? Any partnerships and short/long term technical milestones that you want to talk about or bring some attention to?

Drey

Image for post
Image for post

This pretty much explains the near term tech roadmap. Several key points here is,

  1. We plan to roll out multi-asset collateral functionality by end of year
  2. Governance will be up afterwards so that the community can decide the future of the protocol
  3. Exciting partnership with 2 partner chains coming up soon for deep integration
  4. On top of the tech roadmap, our financial engineering team is working on listing different assets with a proper oracle set-up on a regular basis!

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

We hope you’ll forgive us for a bit of self promotion right at the end here, but what do you see as the key benefits of having the DuckDAO community as an early investor? What drew you to us, and how can we as a community best support you?

Kevin

We at Linear Finance are truly grateful to the DuckDao community and its key leadership. As one of our first strategic investors, your community passionately believed in the vision of our team and our project and helped to spread this vision with the other communities and Linear really springboarded from that point on. DDDao really knows how to harness the true power of your community and we are eternally grateful for this and will always be a champion of Duck Duck Dao. Special thanks to Ken and Lukas and the Duck Army!!!

To your DDDao community, Drey and I are super excited for the journey ahead and we are building Linear Finance for YOU and for you to use. We would love to have you be involved in the development of our project so it would be great to see you all in our Discord or TG channels to give suggestions on how we can build the best synthetic asset protocol for you!

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

Very welcome! Thanks belongs to all the Ducks! Even if the rumour with DuckDuckDAO holds very strong :) Thanks to Ivan on Tech. (little inside joke)

Ok, we will open the chat now for a few minutes. Most likely, you won’t be able to reply to specific questions…. let’s see how it goes :)

🐥

How will your team ensure that linear finance remains the top platform and keep pace ahead of your competitors, in the next 5 years and beyond?

Kevin

For DeFi, everything moves too quick and you keep your place in line whether you provide innovative products or are so tightly integrated. For Linear we are likely going to push the boundaries on the synthetic assets we will have and any innovative services we can build on top of these assets…

🐥

What does linear finance think about solving issues that the DeFi ecosystem still can’t solve?

Drey

Thanks Moody. That’s a good question. Currently we are seeing that DeFi is gaining super strong traction but on the lending and borrowing level only. One major reason is because everyone is using Ethereum and making Ethereum super congested. It is essential to explore sensible scaling solutions for different use cases and that’s why you are seeing more and more projects using other chains. But like I said before, for many of the use cases there is no need for setting up a single blockchain with DPOS/POA to solve just a single problem.

But providing a practical and working solution regarding derivatives use on day 1, we believe we will be able to help build the entire financial ecosystem on top of blockchain.

🐥

As we all know Defi is the talk of the Crypto Industry nowadays, Do you think Defi will incorporate Existing Financial system?

Kevin

I think we will eventually incorporate the existing financial system as long as they can build a bridge between both. If you look at someone like MakerDao, they are working on this and I would expect this to be the next true wave of DeFi revolution

🐥

Despite the recent DEFI hype, current adoption and user engagement in DeFi is only 1% of crypto users. How do you plan to raise your overall DeFi adoption rate to 10%?

Drey

We are not exactly the same when you look at the economic model of us vs. the food farm. For us it’s more of a staking action so that you become a de facto shareholder of the synthetic asset exchange. One key difference here vs. other existing solution is since we are able to provide a tradeable environment (vs, a clogged Ethereum version where no one really trades), stakers can gain a meaningful split of transaction fee on top of the platform staking / inflationary reward (which is not sustainable if it dominates)

Kevin

This is quite a useful statistic and it rings true when you look at other crypto users. These users range extremely noob to super DeFi and i think on the far left of the spectrum, its about education and safety (probably after hearing about rug pulls) and then about UI/UX. majority of DeFi protocols are hard to use… You need to be a rocket scientist. At Linear, we are really dumbing it down so that its easy and intuitive to use for everyone

🐥

Q1. What are the essential requirements for a token to appear on your platform? What do they take into consideration? Do they have to meet any guidelines?

Q2. Is it a platform for professional traders? What is the effect that ordinary investors who are not trading experts can feel from using bitset platforms?

Drey

Q1. Basically any assets/indexes that have metrics (be it price or even numbers), we can work with our oracle partners to make a price feed and it becomes tradeable. The key here is we don’t plan to dominate the decision of the asset listing. we will open it up for the DAO to decide

Q2. actually it is built for everyone. Without slippage and with instant settlement, it shouldn’t be a hurdle for anyone to pick up. We will keep building advanced order functions in the future tho, in order to cater more complex functions for advanced traders.

🐥

Which markets are you targeting for 2021 and for coming 5–10 years ? What strategies do you have to attract users, and keep them with your exchange for the long term?

Kevin

Whilst we will be active with core target markets in the West, look for Drey and I to make a big push in the Asian markets such as China, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and the rest of SE. Each market is challenging as it’s not simply a case of hiring a community manager and walking away. Our materials need to be translated into local languages and we will be conducting numbers of AMA alongside our local partners in each country.

🐥

What can we do to support Linear Finance in everyday life? How can we (e.g. as an Hodler) make Linear Finance and the Linear Finance Community help to grow?

Drey

Be a staker. Try out our trading functions. Talk to us and give feedback on telegram / discord. We will have our community angel program soon as well if that is of your interest. :)

🐥

Security is one of the threats to DeFi’s continuous growth. As one of the first DeFi products to continuously deliver innovation, how have you overcome this? Do you have a bug bounty program to check the vulnerability of your smart contracts?

Drey

Certainly. We will have a bug bounty program when our testnet is launched. + stage 2 code auditing with multiple code audit firms.

Ken | DuckDAO 🐥

You guys are a powerhouse team :)

Thanks so much for taking you so much time for the community

Kevin

Thanks for spending the time with us!!!

Drey

Thank YOU Ken for bringing us to such an active and responsive community

Kevin

We look forward to chatting with you guys soon!!!
