Original article below:

Three months ago, DuckDAO expanded its feature lineup with DuckDAO Hunters — a new range of epic crypto-collectables based around the DuckDAO community.

We are proud and humbled to say that our ducks took to the project with a ferocity even we didn’t quite expect, with hundreds of users now holding DuckDAO Hunters NFTs!

As you may be aware, a total of 48 cards are available in Season 1 of DuckDAO Hunters — all of which represent whimsical, funky, or downright bizarre caricatures of the DuckDAO team, our partners, and a range of popular crypto icons.

But one of these cards has been missing in action — until now! But before we get into how the final card will be released, a quick recap!

The Quick Recap

In the last three months, our ducks have been meticulously collecting, winning, and trading 47 of the 48 total DuckDAO Hunters NFTs — with the last NFT yet to be released.

These cards are split across three rarity tiers, with tier 1 (legendary) NFTs being the rarest — with just 1–12 copies of each NFT ever minted. Tier 2 cards are considered somewhat rare, with 20–80 of each minted, while tier 3 cards are common, with up to 400 of each being created.

During this time, we distributed dozens of prizes to avid collectors and DuckDAO Hunters aficionados who managed to complete sets quicker than anyone else.

In total, more than 324 ETH worth of DuckDAO Hunters NFTs changed hands on OpenSea during season 1, catapulting our project into the top 15 by trading volume on the platform! There are now well over 500 different DuckDAO Hunters NFT holders, with each card selling for an average of 0.56 ETH!

So far, the most expensive card ever sold is the “Z.C. — The Exchange” tier 1, which sold for a whopping 2,555 DDIM (currently worth ~$177,000) back in November 2020.

We gave away $75k in intermediary prizes for collecting sets along the way over several events.

On top of this, a staggering 425 loot boxes were sold!

The Battle Draws to a Close

To wrap up season 1 of DuckDAO Hunters, the last remaining tier 1 card, titled “Michael — The Venture Capitalist” will be auctioned off on OpenSea to the highest bidder.

As the rarest card in the season 1 set, and the only card of its kind, whosoever manages to snag it has an excellent shot at winning the $100,000 grand prize.

With the release of the 48th card, the season will shortly come to a close, and a single winner will be crowned the king of season 1.

Auction is over!

The first person to hold all 48 DuckDAO Hunters NFTs will be the winner and with that DuckDAO Hunters Season 1 will be completed.

The runners-up prizes will be announced after the grand prize winner is crowned.

Can you catch ’em all in time?

Season 2: What to Expect

As a result of the rampant demand from the community, and the incredible success of season 1 of DuckDAO Hunters, we’ll be doubling down in season 2 — making it bigger, bolder, and quackier than ever before.

This means you can expect to see even more familiar faces reimagined as epic collectable duck NFTs, and will have more ways than ever to take part. We’re still putting the finishing touches on the specifics of the new season.

As always, you’ll be able to collect these NFTs in a range of ways, such as by winning them in an airdrop, purchasing them from other players, or buying limited loot boxes. Oh, and don’t forget to keep your season 1 cards handy — as they might play an important role in season 2.

In true DuckDAO fashion, you can also expect some jaw-dropping prizes!

Stay tuned on social media for more in the coming weeks!

Until then, keep on quackin’
