InvestDex — AMA Summary
On Wednesday the 26th of May, the DuckDAO community had an AMA with the team at InvestDex.

Can we start with an introduction for yourselves; what are your backgrounds/experiences both in the traditional and crypto spaces?
Can you also talk a little bit about some key team members that are not here with us today for this AMA?

Hello Everyone. I am the CEO/Lead dev of Investdex and I have our Business Strategist ML with me today. I have a BA (Hons) in Business and I run multiple businesses outside of crypto. I got involved in crypto in Sept 2017 in the midst of the bull run. I fell instantly in love with the space and became very passionate about learning as much as I could. My main focus was software development, trading and algorithms. I have been involved in crypto ever since. My Business Strategist ML is an Economics and Business Studies graduate and has also run a business outside of crypto.
Currently we are working with 3 React developers, 2 Backend Developers, a Project Manager/Lead Developer and a Product tester.
The developers have extensive experience working with crypto projects where they have worked on automated crypto trading solutions which have been sold to hedge funds for high frequency trading. The developers have a lot of experience developing apps which are not only functional but also have a user friendly and user-first approach during development.

Let’s start with a very broad question about your project — can you give us a high level summary of what you are building, and who your target user base is?
InvestDex
InvestDex is an innovative disruption in the DeFi space that merges decentralized crypto trading with a versatile token organizational system that is tailored to the needs of every crypto trader.
“We have based our organisational features on the likes of Trello and Asana, as there is currently nothing like that for the crypto space.”
With InvestDex, traders get a well-rounded platform that compiles their crypto trade flows in a systemic fashion. It lets them keep a comprehensive record of their tokens, track the team’s roadmaps, users can plan their next moves on the basis of pre-defined milestones. They can also track all the important events that are happening in the crypto space and customise it to suit their interests.
Our target base are traders looking for gems, low cap, micro cap projects. Right now we are targeting the Uniswap and PancakeSwap user base. Currently we have charting tools for both Dex’s and we are currently working on our next chain integration.
In addition we are targeting any crypto investors that want to have a more organised strategy to their trading investments.

Next question: I struggle to track my crypto taxes and I wonder if InvestDex is going to incorporate this feature in its portfolio management tool?
InvestDex
So our Risk Management tool is in the early stages of its development. This allows investors to pre-empt the market and minimise their risk, thereby keeping more of their gains. We have explored the idea of adding a new tab for a tool that helps track taxes. This would be complicated as each country has its own unique tax codes, however we would approach the development of this feature the “Investdex way”, ensuring that all our features are user friendly, making the complex, simple.

I see. And yes, because the global attributes of crypto, incorporating tax tracking features would most likely have to be unique for each country.
So yes I can understand the challenges you would face.

Do you have plans to make a native InvestDex app for mobile devices — iPhone and Android?

Good question. We already have a smartphone optimised version of the platform which is currently live and we are always working on making tweaks and improvements to that regularly. People using our platform on their smartphones are reporting really good user experiences and we will continue to use feedback to optimise the platform. Having said that, everybody loves an app and we have plans to develop one later in the year but there isn’t an exact timescale on that currently.

Do you have any plans to integrate matcha or paraswap instead of just uni or sushi? Wouldn’t it be more comprehensive to integrate an aggregator rather than a specific dex?
M L
On the contrary, our strategy is to focus on the highest volume DEX on each blockchain because that allows us to cover most of the projects on that particular blockchain. If you look at Ethereum and BSC, this is the way the market currently is, with most of the action overwhelmingly concentrated on Uniswap and PancakeSwap. Trying to be comprehensive at this stage would be incredibly labour intensive for not a lot of added benefit.

I can see that. Honestly, most things in crypto are so complex but you guys are making it simple….this is exactly what is needed to onboard more users.
What are the ways in which InvestDex generates profits / What is the project’s revenue model? What are the fees and discounts available when using the platform?
InvestDex
We have a couple of different revenue streams, first being our subscription model and the second being our B2B advertising services. In terms of discounts, as mentioned in an earlier answer, users holding a certain amount of INVEST tokens will be eligible for a discounted monthly fee. We will be focusing not only on the price of our token but also on our DAU ( Daily Active Users). DAU is very valuable to clients who want to expand their reach. We believe the features that we have created will bring in a lot of traffic and grow our DAU very quickly.

Can you please elaborate on the What Watcher feature on the InvestDex platform? How will this work in practice for a user?
M L
Ok so the Whale Watcher is a feature that allows our users to filter High Volume trades ($10K+) tracking Whales and their movements. It is a very handy tool as you can copy their trades. Generally the Whales are in the know and this can be an incredibly lucrative trading strategy! Here is a video showing the feature in practice:

Yes, there are a few big partnerships in the works and they will be announced in the coming days leading up to the IDO. The team is working very hard to build good relationships with other major projects in the space.

What is the WorkStation? Can you tell us why that will benefit us?

Our Workstation is our flagship feature that will set us apart and it is our U.S.P.
We are the first project to bring these crypto work-flow organisation and productivity tools. Once people start using these tools, they will find it hard to live without. It will benefit us all, I need this tool myself lol. No more missing AMA’s, Pre-Sales, and important milestones. The Interactive Calendar is a maintainable and much needed tool for every crypto trader and investor.

Is the platform safe to Invest? How strong is your security?

Yes. Our token contract has been audited by the Solid group and we don’t have any complicated staking contracts which can make our token vulnerable to hacks etc.

Great question! We currently translated our site in Chinese. Over the next few months we will add Korean, Turkish, Spanish … We are planning to do many more.
