The First Step to Cross-Chain Ducks— DuckBRIDGE
As part of our goal to bring our thriving community of Ducks not only the best range of early-stage investment opportunities but also the best experience, we have examined every possible avenue for improving our range of services.
With this perspective in mind, just over a month ago, we announced that we planned to take the DuckDAO ecosystem cross-chain by launching into the rapidly expanding Binance Smart Chain ecosystem.
After extensive testing and security audits, we are proud to announce that the DuckBRIDGE is finally ready for launch!

What is the DuckBRIDGE?
The DuckBRIDGE is a cross-chain platform that will be used to transfer assets from one blockchain to another, while keeping a secure record of the interactions and traceable connection to the original blockchain.
Initially, the utility of the platform will be limited to swapping DDIM and DUCK ERC-20 for DDIM and DUCK BEP-20 assets and vice-versa. However, in the future we expect to increase the utility of the platform by introducing other tokens from the DuckDAO ecosystem and optimizing the platform for other promising blockchains.
For now, the first two supported tokens, DLP DUCK token ($DUCK) and DuckDaoDime ($DDIM) will be launched as BEP-20 assets on Binance Smart Chain.
DuckBRIDGE is necessary in order for us to keep growing the ecosystem and provide a great user experience across all DuckDAO platforms. The Ethereum network will remain the focal point of our ecosystem, however this does not stop us from leveraging the benefits of other blockchains to fulfil specific goals and improve user experience.

Other Tokens
Although DUCK and DDIM will be the first tokens supported by the bridge, we will also give projects launched through DuckDAO, DuckSTARTER, and the DuckFARM the option to easily deploy their tokens as BEP-20 assets.
For DuckDAO, the bridge will provide frictionless token distribution.
For Ducks, it will enable low claim costs.
For projects, it means access to cross-chain technology by default and a ready-to-go setup if they desire to expand beyond their native blockchain.
The DuckBRIDGE is a solution to many of the Ethereum native issues that our ecosystem is facing and it will provide DuckDAO and Ducks with a new path forward through the crypto landscape.

We’ve made the process as simple and intuitive as possible, and will continue to support all ducks on a use case basis to ensure that everybody is on the same page, can operate the DuckBRIDGE independently and experience increased freedom.
Right now, the DuckBRIDGE supports swaps between the Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain blockchains, but as mentioned above we may integrate other blockchains in the future — based on user demand, activity, and network conditions.

To ensure the smooth operations of the bridge, we’ve implemented limits for each token.
Additionally, a DuckBRIDGE bug bounty is being prepared to provide technical minds in the community with an incentive to dive deep into the platform and test its integrity.
What This Means For You
In the last few months, we have seen a dramatic uptick in activity on the Ethereum network, as a result, both transaction fees and confirmation times have skyrocketed. Users are now expected to pay upwards of $50 to complete a simple token claim transaction, or potentially more than $100 to execute a trade on Uniswap.
Likewise, the confirmation time for low fee transactions is often excessive, frequently making trading difficult and a generally more frustrating process than it needs to be, diminishing the user experience.
Nonetheless, Ethereum remains a hotbed of innovation, and there are dozens of exciting projects in development that make it worth supporting for the long haul. But it isn’t the only promising platform in town.
