ATHLETICS | Israel storms to national gold for Dundealgan AC at his first indoor event
Israel Olatunde was Dundelgan AC’s sole representative at the National Junior and U23 Indoor Championships at Athlone IT recently and he returned home as the National Junior 60m indoor champion.
Competing against more experienced athletes in his first indoor competition, Israel finished first in his heat to qualify for the final and then went on to win the national title in a time of 6.99 seconds.
This was an outstanding achievement for Israel and augers well for his future in athletics. He is a dedicated athlete and is a role model for the younger members in the club.
Naturally, everyone involved with the club join with him in celebrating his success. Congratulations Israel!
