GREYHOUNDS | Two finals at Dundalk Stadium this evening
Barber Kennels A4/A5 and Racecourse Road A6 final down for decision
Local enthusiast Colm Lawrence will be doubly-represented in tonight’s final of the Barber Kennels A4/A5. He has qualified Out The Rock and Dannys Prince for the big race which carries a first prize of €2,200.
Out The Rock has been a star for the Blackrock owner-trainer in this competition, winning three of the four rounds to date.
In last Friday’s opening semi-final, the son of Superior Product and Woe Girl wore the red jacket, and led at the first bend before going on to beat Madabout Bella and Crickleowl Sally by five lengths and two-and-a-quarter lengths in 28.88. In the next, Dannys Prince took third behind Swift Boreas (28.74) and Take Note.
Final draw: 1 Take Note, 2 Madabout Bella, 3 Crickleowl Sally, 4 Swift Boreas, 5 Out The Rock, 6 Dannys Prince (m).
Tonight will also see the Racecourse Road A6 final, to which Dodgin Bullet brings a 100% record for the Bcomes Syndicate, Corduff, and trainer, Laurence Jones.
He justified 4/6 favouritism when clocking 28.80 last time, which is just one spot quicker than Doubleurluck recorded in the other heat.
Final draw: 1 Winnie Mae, 2 Doubleurluck, 3 Brave Warrior, 4 Dodgin Bullet, 5 String Of Pearls, 6 Kilcarn Bob.
Meanwhile, Ballymac Bigmike gave another scintillating performance to take the final of the Dundalk Stadium Open 400 on Friday night last. He made every yard from trap four to see off Milldean Gem by over two lengths in 21.17.
Ballymac Bigmike is sure to be favourite to successfully defend his Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup title when the classic gets underway next month.
A fundraiser for Geraldines GFC last Saturday produced a few local winners. Thunder Joe made a winning debut for Nicole McLoughlin, coming home three-quarters of a length up on Killure Sadie in 29.14.
The Bed To Work Syndicate, comprising Pat and Matthew Loftus and Michael Tiernan, owners of Killure Sadie, struck later on with Killure King. This promising sort improved his record to three from five when getting the better of Fatboyz Kristoff by one-and-a-half lengths in 21.39.
In the finale, Thats It was another trap-to-line scorer for Peter Noone’s Lordship kennel. He hacked up by six-and-a-half lengths in 29.04.
