LADIES GAA | Draw for the 2019 Louth Ladies GAA Championship throws up some interesting fixtures

# Mochtas, Brides and Geraldines to meet in senior
# Clans hoping for a run in the intermediate grade

The draw for the 2019 Louth Ladies GAA Club Championship took place in Philipstown on Monday night.

The draw, which was made by members of the victorious Louth U16 Leinster Championship winning team, was also attended by sponsors of each of the respective grades: Halpenny Travel, Hollywood Developments and Watters of Collon.

Halpenny Travel Senior Championship

Group A: St Mochtas, St Brides, Geraldines.
Group B: St Fechin’s, Newtown Blues, Stabannon Parnells.
Group C: St Kevin’s, Roche/Na Piarsaigh, Cooley Kickhams.

Reigning senior champions Cooley Kickhams were drawn in Group C alongside St Kevin’s and Roche/Na Piarsaigh while last year’s intermediate winners, St Fechin’s, will face Newtown Blues and Stabannon in Group B.

The Geraldines, who have been knocking on the door in recent seasons, are part of a tough-looking Group A which also features fellow Division One high flyers St Mochtas and St Brides.

Top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.

Round One Fixtures — Date TBC

Group A: St Mochtas v St Brides
Group B: St Fechin’s v Newtown Blues
Group C: St Kevin’s v Roche/Na Piarsaigh

Hollywood Developments Intermediate Championship

Group A: Clan na Gael, O’Raghallaighs/Oliver Plunketts, Kilkerley, Dreadnots.
Group B: St Patrick’s, Naomh Fionnbarra, Naomh Mairtin/Glen Emmets, Glyde Rangers.

In-form Clan na Gael, who sit top of the Division Two league table with maximum points from their three games, will be hoping for intermediate championship glory. They will take on O’Raghallaighs/Plunketts, Kilkerley and the Dreadnots in Group A.

Elsewhere, last year’s beaten finalists, St Patrick’s, must navigate past Naomh Fionnbarra, Naomh Mairtin/Glen Emmets and Glyde Rangers in Group B.

The top team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals while the second and third-placed teams in each group will play in the quarter-finals.

Ardee St Mary’s, Hunterstown Rovers, Geraldines ‘B’ and Cooley Kickhams ‘B’

The format for the four-team Junior Championship, which features the returning Ardee St Mary’s, will be determined at a later date.
