Zodiac spoils Gordon Lord Byron’s party at Dundalk Stadium
Sign Of The Kodiac denied Gordon Lord Byron in the Download The Award-Winning At The Races App Race at Dundalk Stadium on Friday night.
James Given’s raider tracked the front running Togoville until Pat Smullen made his move two furlongs out.
Gordon Lord Byron went with him, while Togoville boxed on, but Sign Of The Kodiac (9–2) wasn’t to be denied and flashed past the post half a length ahead of Gordon Lord Byron, whose performance signalled that he is far from a back number.
That was the middle leg of a treble for Smullen, started when St Stephen’s Green made a successful Flat debut in the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Maiden.
A useful hurdler with a rating in the 120s, Emmet Mullins’ charge was a well-supported 5–4 favourite and travelled well before finding plenty when challenged by The Invisible Dog to prevail by half a length.
The Visit attheraces.com Race also went back across the Irish Sea thanks to Elbereth’s late lunge.
Smullen appeared to have fought off all the challengers on front-running favourite Fire Fighting but Colin Keane wore him down on the Andrew Balding-trained Elbereth (11–2), who scored by half a length.

Six Silver Lane (14–1) took the Watch The Dubai World Cup Live On ATR Handicap, while Burn The Boats overcame trouble in running to land the Download The Free At The Races App Claiming Race.
Donagh O’Connor was caught on the heels of the leaders but switched his mount towards the inside halfway down the straight, and Burn The Boats finished really well to beat fellow 3–1 joint-favourite Elusive In Paris by half a length.
Lily’s Prince is such a consistent performer and demonstrated his battling qualities by keeping Chicago School a neck at bay in the Dubai World Cup Live Tomorrow On ATR Handicap as the 4–1 favourite.
The meeting on March 24th was the last meeting of the Winter Series that runs from November 4th up to and including March 24th.
Titles for leading Jockey and Trainer were bestowed on the race night. The Leading Trainer of the Winter Series was jointly shared by Michael Halford and Joseph O’Brien who both secured 14 wins. Again, the Leading Jockey title was shared by Pat Smullen and Colin Keane with 19 wins respectively over the Winter Series at Dundalk Stadium.
