This May, on Dune
While the year 2020 continues to test the boundaries of our disbelief, it is more important now than ever for start-up companies, such as Dune, to clearly cement our stance. As a team, we truly believe cryptocurrency has the power to make the world a better place, and as such, we at Dune Network have our role to play in this. We understand that it is not our place to display brash opinions regarding world events, however, ignoring serious sociopolitical issues does nothing to further a solution. There is only so much we as a community can do, but we must do what we can. It is with this in mind then, that we would like to show our support for everyone, internationally, engaged in peaceful protest, and the message of equality for which they stand.
In this day and age, intolerance should not be tolerated.
Although there are many causes for suffering which we cannot directly aid the solution to, there are some we can.
Dune Folding
Folding@home is a novel distributed computing project for performing complex protein folding calculations. Users download and install software which uses spare computing power from their device (very similar to mining Bitcoin!) to find treatments and cures to real world diseases — including Covid19.
With credit and thanks to @THEREALTWENTEMINING, soon, Dune Folding will allow the Dune community to directly get involved with this vital research, and earn rewards for doing so through a DUN based pool system!
Dune Playground
On a lighter hearted note, launched this week, is our much anticipated games showcase platform — appropriately titled Dune Playground!
The platform features a blockchain based Rock, Paper, Scissors game, which interacts directly with Dune Metal to allow players to earn DGG (Dune Good Game) tokens. What’s more, Dune Playground utilises our unique collect-call smart contracts on Love, so (when possible) there are no fees to pay to play! There is even a faucet to allow newcomers to reveal their wallet! It’s the best way to show your friends the power of Dune, and have a little fun at the same time!
