Think long-term but build short-term.
Thinking too much about the long term might cause you to try and build today what can only be built in the long term. Building an early version — a basic version — of what you eventually want to build is much easier, quicker, cheaper, less risky, and will most likely keeps your business alive and profitable.
If you try and build something complex from the beginning, you’re building more than you know you need, you’re paying more than you need to pay and you’re spending more time than you need to spend. It all just adds up to inefficiencies and lack of productivity, and this harms innovation.
Products evolve into better versions of themselves. You’re building up your product and brand, you’re not willing them into sudden existence.
