The Parable of the King who killed his development team.
Once upon a time, there was a King who commissioned a software development project…
The developers created the product, and then came the time to get the product deployed so the King could receive his payment in gold and mir.
The developers could not perform this task because they did not know the required Alchemy, and they could not produce the deployable products.
The King went out and found an Alchemist who understood the magic and could produce a viable free-standing product the King could deploy to his customers.
Along the way, the King fell into difficult times, or he chose to stop paying the Alchemist, and the Alchemist grew impatient with the King. He let the King know he would be using the Alchemy he had used for the King to support himself while waiting for the King to pay for the Alchemy that had been demonstrated before the King.
The King made promises about paying the Alchemist, and the Alchemist believed some of those promises. Still, The Alchemist knew the King would have done the right thing if he had any intention for doing so, but yet the King claimed to be a great King who was able to raise armies in the past, yadda-yadda-yadda.
