Not China or South Korea and certainly not the US, the tag of housing the world’s largest mobile factory has straight away put Noida on top of the world’s manufacturing map when it comes to consumer electronics.

Our Noida factory, the world’s largest mobile factory, is a symbol of Samsung’s strong commitment to India. We ‘Make in India’, ‘Make for India’ and now, we will ‘Make for the World’. For Samsung, India is among the top five smartphone markets globally. The new 35 acre facility at Sector 81 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in. It is a step forward towards creating an IT civilization.

Benefits

With the opening of the new facility, Samsung will double its current capacity for mobile phones in Noida from 67 million units a year to 120 million units a year, in a phase-wise expansion that will be completed by 2020. The company currently has over 10 percent of its overall production in India and aims to take it to 50 percent over the next three years. The new facility is also expected to double Samsung’s production capacity of consumer electronics such as refrigerators and flat-panel televisions, further consolidating the company’s leadership in these segments. It will enable the South Korean Technology giant to add some local features to its devices powered by research and development done in the country.

The new facility will reduce the time it takes to reach markets and there’s no doubt this initiative is going to boost employment opportunities in the area. This will provide a better future for the masses. Since this is a work-intensive facility, it is going to need huge manpower which in turn will create thousands of employment. It will play an appreciable role in the betterment of India’s economy. With the new facility, Samsung is definitely going to have an edge over its rivals.
