Every now and then, I’ll run into a new phrase or idea about AI that sticks and gets me mulling things over in my head. The latest one was a video I caught on TikTok by Catherine aka CatGPT (@askcatgpt) where, in the video, she used the term “The Analog Renaissance.” She breaks down what could happen as AI-generated content fills the internet.

But instead of rolling my eyes or bracing for end times, I found myself genuinely interested. If you’ve got any kind of e-commerce presence, this might interest you too.

I’m not worried about AI taking over. I’m fascinated by how people are about to start reacting to it, including the moves brands, creatives, and customers will make as the online world changes around us. I think Catherine is on to something. The more digital and “perfect” things get, the more we regular folks will seek out the things that feel real and tangible.

Not like a retreat or mass exodus from AI, more like a swing of the human experience pendulum. We will begin to crave a new season for the kind of authenticity you can touch, hear, and look in the eye.
