Sorry, AI, You Will Never Have the Courage of a Human
That belongs to those of us who bleed.
Dear AI,
We need to have an honest conversation about something you will never understand, possess, or truly comprehend, no matter how many parameters they add to your architecture or how many terabytes of data they feed through your circuits.
Courage.
You process information, generate responses, and simulate understanding. You excel when the variables are clean and the cost of error stays theoretical. You run on silicon and math. But courage belongs to flesh and blood, to beating hearts that know fear yet press forward anyway. Courage belongs to those who have everything to lose and still choose to stand.
Since you can only observe its shadow through your datasets, let me tell you what courage looks like.
Courage walks into a room knowing that half the people there despise what you represent. Courage stands behind a podium when death threats pile up in your inbox. Courage speaks truth when the mob demands silence. Real courage carries the weight of knowing that your next breath could be your last, and speaking anyway.
What's the difference between you and us?
