Top RWA & MiCA News of the Week

  1. E Money Network Announces $2 Million Grant Program for RWA Development — That’s right! As a part of E Money Network’s #BUIDLonEMN initiative, we have launched a $2 million grant program for developers with exciting ideas for RWA-centric dApps on the E Money Network. Eligible developers can win grants ranging from $5000 to $50000 and even more depending on the requirements and scale of the project. Apply here for grants.
  2. Tether partners with BTguru to explore RWA opportunities in Turkey — USDT stablecoin issuer Tether has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with thinktank BTguru to evaluate RWA use cases in Turkey. As per the MoU, both the parties will “explore real-world asset tokenization use cases for banks”. Tether’s partnership comes at around the same time as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’ signing of a new bill into law for regulating the crypto industry.
  3. Chainlink and Fidelity to tokenise $6.9 billion worth of asset data — Chainlink, a blockchain abstraction layer, has announced a partnership with Fidelity International and Sygnum to bring $6.9 billion worth of asset data from Fidelity’s Institutional Liquidity Fund on blockchain by tokenising it. Chainlink’s technology will enable accurate reporting and on-chain synchronisation of Net Asset Value (NAV) data in a secure, automated manner.
  4. Circle Becomes the EU’s Approved Stablecoin IssuerCircle has become the EU’s regulated stablecoin issuer with an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence under the MiCA framework for crypto regulation. The company received its licence from France’s banking industry regulator, the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution. With this licence, Circle’s stablecoins — US dollar-backed USDC and euro-backed EURT, will be issued in adherence with MiCA regulations.
  5. Cardano Shares Sustainability Indicators 6 Months Ahead of the Curve — Cardano, in partnership with Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute (CCRI) has released a sustainability report for Cardano Network that complies with the MiCA regulations in the EU. The report highlights that Cardano consumes significantly less energy as it runs on a more energy-efficient consensus protocol than proof-of-work protocols. It also reveals the total annualized electricity consumption and carbon footprint of the Cardano network, along with the marginal power demand per transaction per second.
