To celebrate the 5th anniversary of e-Residency in 2019, we asked our community around the world to invite their family and friends to apply for e-Residency and join them as members of Estonia’s digital nation.

In the end, over 2,000 e-residents invited someone they know to apply for e-Residency and four of them were selected to win a trip to Estonia for the e-Residency Business Bootcamp and Latitude59 conference.

This initiative was so successful that we are planning additional opportunities for current e-residents to invite people to apply for e-Residency and receive a reward for their efforts.

We are now happy to announce the winners who will join us in Tallinn in May! Read more about them below and find out why they applied for e-Residency.

Alexis Brantes Rodríguez — Chile

Alexis

“I’m a lover of technology and the complexity of societies. E-Residency is a concept, a manifest of a lifestyle that makes liquid citizenship a real thing that I can trust. The idea of legal security and simple procedures is just amazing and offers the basic things that I need and the opportunity to bring my company into Europe and run it from anywhere. I love to travel and live in different countries, and I hope Estonia will be one of those in the future. For now, I’m feeling happy being a part of this e-nation.”

Kathy Chan — Hong Kong

“Estonia is a good place to set foot in the European market. The locals are friendly and helpful, and the usage of online services are very simple and easy to understand. E-Residency will definitely help me to develop my global trading business.”

Cherla Cheung — Hong Kong

“I am establishing my startup business and need access to the EU market. E-Residency allows me to start and manage an EU-based company completely online using the digital ID. This is absolutely the most efficient way for a digital nomad and entrepreneur.”

Teo Scorpan — Romania

“E-Residency offers the flexibility to manage a paperless company from anywhere in the world, with access to well known banks and developer friendly payment processors. I’m glad and proud to be part of the future.”

Thanks to everyone who participated and invited their friends to become e-residents! Make sure you keep an eye on your inbox for future opportunities.
